Kleeman Headers & Quaife diff!

OK everybody!

I will be taking the plunge and be ordering my quaife diff and Kleeman headers tomorrow. The cams will be my final step and i'm done modifying my W202 C43/55 hybrid. I plan on using my 17" mono's with some toyo ra1's to run the 1/4 mile.

After hearing my friend tell me how he ran a 12.7@110mph in his modded 300C SRT8 I just caught the bug! He has headers and full exhaust, intake and ECU upgrade. More practice and a E55 quaife in the SRT8 and he should at least run 12.5's or maybe a tad better with drag tires.

After this project i go full throttle and put my 550whp modded bottom end in my Eagle Talon. I want to pray on some M5's and I hate to admit it but a few modded E55K's as well.

Stay tuned!!

Are you sure the Quaife diff will fit? When you did the conversion did you replace the diff with an 210 E55 diff?

Toss me a PM on what you paid for the quaiffe if you don't mind. Last time I made the effort I was once again told that it wouldn't fit by half and that it would by the other half. So it does fit!! This is probably the best mod I could get for my car at the moment.

Seems like the C43 forum is comming back alive finally.......and Carl, you are not done modding that car. Mods are like drugs for addicts, the bug never fully leaves you...muaa ha ha ha. So next spring you're going F/I and dipping 11's right??

Project C55,
Before you get the quaiffe (which is not an easy install) put the Toyo RA1s on your car and see how it launches. I have the Toyos and will probably not put the Quaiffe on my car.. Do a search on this forum. No one has seen improved 60 ft times with an LSD. As a matter of fact, I believe the fastest 60ft time for an E55 was DJe55 (1.61). He doesnt have an LSD, he has Toyo Ra1s.

Really? serious question. I would like to find out more about this. I would think that it would help tremendously with accelerating out of corners or uneven pavement correct?? I mean, a track is about as perfect as its gonna get.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. It should help tremendously with accelerating out of corners or uneven payment. I believe he was referring to improvements at a 1/4 mile track, and in my opinion, and based on what I have seen, a LSD doesn't help .01 of a second in the quarter mile.. In my opinion, a good set of tires are no comparison. If the wheels aren't breaking loose, what good is the LSD?

My 265's both break loose and I have a Quaife! Must be a waste of $$.
I just wish they made one to fit the 500E, so I could waste a few more $$ and get rid of the LSD I have fabbed and run! LOL

Left you a message this a.m. C.

KLEEMAN headers for w208 clk55,430,c43 ARE THE SAME!

Another thing that surprised me some what is that the header application for the W202C43 and the W208 Clk55 use the sane exact headers. 2200.00 for both the W208CLK55 and C43. They both use the same exact header. this should be great news for the CLK430 and CLK55 guys!

Nah Nitro, I have a 4 cyl BEAST that handles that need and does 11's! Also cheaper to mod.

ssssspray that **** and youll run some nice times. Very neat project car, I played with the W210 E55 but its hard to squeeze alot more HP out of that motor. My buddy has a C55 with Renntech ECU/Aribox trapping almost 109 on PS2's no exhaust mods.

....so back to "the LSD won't fit". Was this confirmed by quaife themselves?? It's just strange that the three times I've looked into this I've been told 50/50 that it will or won't fit. Well, I guess that makes headers a reality as I won't be buying an LSD.

Nice trapspeed.i believe mine was low due to two reasons.

1. tire presure in my rear tires was way too low.
2. The exhaust on my car had several majr leas, was poorly designed by BMS and I kept driving the car with the engine chk light on. After installing my new exhaust which is similr to PTE's(CLK55W209) the eng chk light went off on it's own,the car now has a monster seat of the pants feel (low end, midrange, higher rpm power). It's like a completely different car now. I hope to trap 109mph now or higher. We'll see.

PS I will never put NO2 on any car I own. just dont like it!
