I think you’re wondering the same thing I am – the #8. The good thing is, I know enough about airflow to say I can’t tell you how well air flows by “looking” at a pipe. That and I’m guessing that due to space limitations the tubing from the number 8 cylinder could only be designed exactly as it is. It also may very well be that #8 sees the negative pressure wave from #7 for a good portion of the rev range. The dyno will tell for sure. Me personally, I think It looks good.

they look good, but what was the deal with some people having issues with them after a year of use? anyone know any details on what kind of issues?
how much will install be approximately?

They certainly look beautiful. Hope you get the performance gains we all hear about. Congrats! I just cant afford them right now.

Like you said we'll see on the dyno and the track that is!

It's interesting the right side headers are not 1 piece. Must be a space issue? But it looks good. JetHot those bad boys along with heat wrap for double shield and you should be good to go.

I had to order the exhaust gaskets from MB. Kleemann did not send any bolts as well so i'll have to fabricate those also. hopefully by next wknd the latest I'll have these funky lookng things on. I hope there will be an improvement with these things for 2200.00. Not exactly your nicely fabricated Supersprint headers like what I have on my M3 which included bolts and gaskets. But we'll see what happens with these puppies!

I'm crossing my fingers for some impressive gains and easy install. Would love enough temptation to spring for some myself. Heck... lie to me if you have to

Carl: I know they do not look pretty, but they do work. This is the only way make header in this chassis, there is no room.
I have installed those on CLK430 with Shrick cams there was a 35RWHP gain. Since C43 has hotter cams already, my guess you will somewhere in the vicinity.

208 Headers
Very Nice. . Have you actually looked under the engine bonnet lately . You may find studs instead of bolts.
You are going to see a major difference in performance . Just show them a stock log style exhaust , next to those really nice headers. Don't worry about the 7-8 exhaust reversion pulse thing. Yes they are right next to each other in the Firing order & that is something you cann't change. In your case , the stock ,very restrictive log style manifold. and They were very close! . It looks like with the Kleemann header system ,they doubled that distance ,between 7-8 and did a major tube diameter increase. All in all . It all adds up (so to speak). You 'll LIKE IT. P/S most people do not know about your 5.5 Transplant. 5.5 had studs on the heads exhaust . Cheers ___PTE___

Vadim and Patrick then I'll take your wrd for it. Thanx to you both! Yes I guess Vadim did not know my C43 has a 5.5l motor in it!
Well we'll see what the results say.
The downpipes I have to admit are nice pieces measuring 2.5" and SS. If the stck exhaust mani gaskets are bigger than the flange openings I will have my turbo manifold fabricator open the header flanges up to match the gaskets.
Pat I know about the studs in the head! They just did not send me the bolts for the 2 down pipe exhaust flanges. My friend received the bold flanges with his Kleeman E55k headers. Oh well. My car is 9yrs old after all I guess!
hopefully i'll have the suspension, headers everything done within these next two weeks and finally post a dyno. B4 and aft!
Finally ,is heat coating these babies necessary?

Header coating
I would get them coated. Silver ceramic thermo barrier. Thats what I did mine with ,and here's why. S.S. tends to work harden after a couple of years thermo cycling hot to cold. Then cold to hot. The thermo barrier coating I used helps to spread the heat over the headers. letting the hotspots flow that heat over a wider surface area.. This helps reduce cracking at welds & joints. The coating people like new clean parts. So they do not have to deal with exhaust contaminates. Which are real difficult to get off the insides of the header tubes.
