Buying a C43 amg
Hi guys, i am buying a c43 amg 1999. and i the car have about 130000 miles. what you guys advice buying a high miles car. What i should do once i get them?

Get absolutely every record available for it, i.e. Carfax, MB service records, and MOST important of ALL is find out if the transmission has ever been replaced or at least serviced periodically (fluid, filter replaced) - if it has not been, it's waaaay overdue. What's the asking price, one of us here on the forum can gauge whether high or low...

I def have to agree with Staplegun. Checking the transmission should be your number one option, and of course as many service records as possible is a good idea. All depending on the price and the condition we'll let you know if its a good deal.

I would check for the following :
-transmission serviced - as previously stated - I would still get it "flushed"
-spark plug replacement - should have been done AT LEAST once
-see if the harmonic balancer has been replaced - recall campaign
-check to see if CPS- crank position sensor has been replaced - if not I'd would do it as a preventitive issue - change it on your terms-not the cars
-buy a spare MAS - mass air sensor - don't worry ...you'll need it..eventually
