C43 in the snow

Do you guys drive the car in the snow. I am not in a position to have a winter beater and will probably drive this car in the lighter snow days. What tires are you guys using. Chains? How does it handle. I am in NYC metro area.

I have the General Tires UHP A/S ZR rated stock size on my C36. Its good in the snow. They go for $92 a pop.

My car will definitely slip on one of those roads covered with ice

Naturally stay in 'W' mode so you start in second gear and the special reverse gear. Get some winter tires if its your primary car, my Pirelli P-Zero All Seasons still had me stuck one time on ice in my driveway. I use my Honda Insight now in the winter with snow tires, so I can't really comment for this winter, but the advice I'm giving is from my experience the past winter.

I'd imagine that snow tires are a must. I drove w/ the summer tires in snowy conditions and one point and Thank God for the efficient snow removal, otherwise I'd be that guy who slows everybody down.

I gave up and now it just stays inside the garage when it's snowy... the H3 on the other hand.....

My C43 was great in the snow....

I live in Baltimore, and we have already had good snowfall of 6 inches. The car worked great in W mode. The ASR/ESP works great on that car.

I had a Chevy Pickup on a hill in front of me and he could not make it without 4wd. The c43 went up it without a hitch.

I have owned several high performance vehicles (stang 5.0, 3 z28s and a monte ss)....the c43 has outshined them all. It is even better in the snow than my front wheel drive jetta.

I had found a set of 4 7.5Jx17H2 ET35 OEM AMG wheels with directional Dunlop SP Winter Sport M2 235/45R17 94V M+S tires mounted on them. I just mounted a pair on the rear of my '99 C43 (that just clocked 100,000 miles), and am amazed at the snow traction after the last couple snow storms with them compared to the (absolutely useless on snow) summer tires. I haven't been in deep snow with them yet, but my 300' foot long driveway that climbs about 40' has a snowpack on it and the C43 now with these tires climb up it almost as well as our AWD Town & Country. (Without them, the C43 would still be slip/sliding near the street.)
