My friend in Brunswick GA area wants to buy a clean C43. He was bidding on one at Ebay yesterday, I don't know the outcome. He is about 6.3 or 6.4 tall. I did not recommend C43 but he loves the rarety factor, ( I personaly adviced E55 for his height). Any comments on that?

Please contact me here or PM me..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!!!!!!
God Bless you and your families!

I'm 6-0 and have plenty of headroom left...but barely any legroom in the rear seat behind me for an 8 year old. Also it depends on how long your arms are which tends to dictate the seat leaning back some. Maybe open the sunroof panel too for more ceiling height?

I'm 5'11" and there really isn't much room behind me except for maybe an 8 year old. It's no S class, that's for sure. I'd be looking at an E55 if I were as tall as him.

............there is not any more "up" to go after 1999. 1999 is last model year for C43. The E55's began in 2000.

...........yes there were. You are right. They came in pre-september of 00. They were manufactured in 1999. I doubt that that was what he had in mind. Based on his description of his friend, it looks like he should get a CLK or an an S-class. Both have the most leg room of the MB line. The CLK actually has the most leg room of any MB car. I own a W210 E55 and the legroom is not that much.

......officially, the rarest mass produced AMG is the R63. I believe they made just a few hundred of them

hi vardar,

there are two 2000 C43s listed on autotrader.com
one black/black with 37k miles no options, very expensive 21.500(they were asking 25.500 a month ago)

one black/two-tone 117k miles.

37k one was owned by a benzworld.org member for number of years. had mercedes extended starmarkt warranty but the dealer purchased it as trade in so its void now. but the car was taken care under mercedes warranty for 8 years, very lows miles, it should be in perfect condition.

117k one was on autotrader 2 years ago with the same mileage, then on ebay some months ago, and again on autotrader. there are 2 at least 2 accidents reported on carfax of that car.

I have been looking for a 2000MY for 3 years now. I havent seen one with all the options with less than 50k miles. There were actually 4 listed for sale on autotrader in the last 3 years. asking prices are usually above 20k.

there were 25 imported to the US. 50 imported to UK right hand drive. Some of the UK 2000s dont have touch-shift.maybe another 50 for the rest of the world. the total number is mostlikely less than 150. 2 out of 25 US C43s were totaled in the last 3 years.
there are at least 2 members on this board with 2000s.(they are not willing to sell lol)

2000 model seems to have updated ecu(no power upgrade) touch-shift tranny. teleaid(useless now) mini gps/fm/am/cellphone antenna on the center back of the roof(no gps navigation, gps ability is for teleaid), CLK430 sport wheels(amg 170s), S600 grill.

in most cases , people who like w202 likes w140 as well. it is like the big brother of w202. similar looking but bigger. maybe he should consider w140 S500 or S600. S600 has similar performance if not better. more luxuary and lots of leg room. he has a better chance finding a clean 98 or 99 S500, S600 then a 99, 00 C43 for about the same price.

if someone can post pics of S500 or S600 with 18inch AMG monoblocks, you will see. its beautifull.

good luck
