Your in the right direction, better safe than sorry. The shutting off might be a CPS sensor or something. I know the crank sensors go from time to time and the car just shuts down. I've had mine shut off a couple times when I start it up. Nothing bad.

The knock sensor thing is bad. I've been told our cars are set up well for this issue but its still very scary. I've actually never even heard them. Just heard stories. Then again, if any setup would activate them, it would be our supercharged ovens. I was thinking about starting to install the H20/meth this week...we will see.

yes, there aren't very many differences if any (and the instructions suck so much it won't even matter what car it's for). I can send them when i get home.

Please post any questions you have as well- we can help much better than the directions

If HPS still totally sucks why buy the kit then?

1) Did you buy a new or used kit? If it was used did you get it from HPS or another party? Did all the parts come? If not how much more did you pay?

I might pick up a used HPS kit from Mech-Tech for peanuts. They promised me a before/after dyno with air/fuel ratio. So I'm not worried about fuel. Just want to make sure I don't have to spend more $$$ on parts.

Good luck!

i have not a lot of cash into my set-up- i wouldn't consider a new kit.

my kit was missing many parts and had duplicates of many others- but i worked through it.

Understand, I'm under a tight budget. Mech-Tech told me the used kit comes complete. That is why I ask. I figured anytime you buy a used kit from someone usually the kit is missing key parts. Probably the main reason the kit never performed. I had a similar problem on a used vortech on a Mustang. What a nightmare.

Intercooler Looks like you're going to squeeze a much larger set up under your hood then GregC had on his CLK. This is getting interesting.

yep! and it fits comfortably after some trimming etc.

next challenge is reworking the outlet from the sc to fit- won't be that bad though.

What did you go with in terms of fuel pump?

xxx xxx 982 seems to be interchangeable with the xxx xxx 984 (which is widely available)

my afr's are 11.3-11.9 under wot with that and the "stock HPS" fmu... woot!

You can also add the Kenny Bell Boostapump and a Vortech SuperFMU to help you out with your fuel needs.

i have the splitsecond psc1-003 on my car with the aforementioned pump and have it tuned now in a way that i'm very happy with afr wise throughout normal use and wot.

I have a lot of fuel "added" above voltages of 3.9 or so (maf readings)- would be very lean yet without it.

I will definitely be upgrading my fmu down the road- what model number are you running? unless i do actually get the ecu tuned. i was planning on an ecu tune very soon, but the success with this pump has postponed that. I think i will wait to do ecu tuning when i do "stage II" (centri blower and more boost and hopefully 5.4 litre)
