Custom Interior work
Option 1: Add the "vinyl carbon fiber" look alike to all the wood on the car. I know what you are thinking but the end result is very nice. After the vinyl has been added I spray some high gloss clear. When it dries it look beautiful and professional. There are a few different patterns to do this.
Option 2: This option is the same as 1 but with not clear coats. BUT, after the vinyl is put on I paint it ANY color your heart desires. Should you ever want to go back to wood all you do is pill it off.
Once painted I will add the high gloss clear so that it will look factory. This week or the next I am going to do my car all WHITE like the exterior. I might even paint the part on top of the dash right above the heater blades so that it will be one long beautiful center all the way to the cup door and up to the arm rest.
I'm also going to paint the door pieces white and the handles where you use to close the door. Than I'm going to look into leather dye for SECTIONS of the seats only and a little bit to the stearing wheel. This combo will have to look so good and I know the interior will look sharp.
If you guys think you might be interested in any of this let me know. I will post pics once I'm done with all the paint work. The seats will be done in 2-3 months so no pics of that just yet.

i've also had it on my cellphone for 2 months now to further test durability

I'm looking to eventually do mine with a lighter burl wood veneer using presses and molds. I would like to do vacuum bagging, but I just don't think I could get enough pressure to have it set right. We'll see, I'm learning how to do wood forming right now.
[QUOTE=silence;2638481]this was the initial test piece i did- i will be doing much of my interior with it and some custom engine covers as soon as i have time. I've been EXTREMELY busy with work for the last 6 weeks or so.

Here's a picture of just some of the things I painted white.
All in total I painted 22 parts including the inner parts of the door handles and the seat switches up front.
I think that if MB did not have the bodys of the c280 to make the C43 they would have done something way different than what the interior is now. They did good in adding what they did but if they had no c280s to work with the C43 inside would have been done much better looking (not that its bad but TO ME it did need an upgrade to something newer/different looking than the c280).
Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I used a phone camera. I'll take some pictures once everything is install (for those that would like to take a look).
