'98 C43 AMG. Obsidian Blk w/2 tone slvr/blk interior
theres an intake/valve head/exhaust cleaning service my mech told me about. he said they also use an additive to a full gas tank afterwards to help clear the rest of the **** out and give the o2 sensor a good scrubbing. ill ask him what that is on monday hes not open tomorow. i recall he mentioned a brand name for the cleaning system so ill probably have some good info for you monday. ive yet to have the service done tryin to recover from the new tranny cost....

of seafoam added to a tank of gas yearly is all you need.O2 sensors can't be scrubbed,they just age and get replaced at 100k intervals which is their service life.Fresh clean mb spec. oil, proper filter, proper maint. intervals,the kindest thing you can do for the old girl

Don't mess with mb spec oil and the proper filters.Do the proper maintenance nothing more needs be added.ohlord soaks into metal

Zmax is garbage, proven to damage engines drastically in only a few thousand miles.
The only oils you should put in your car are Mobil1, castrol, Royal Purple or Redline. but those aren't really cleaners those are just oils.
to CLEAN out your engine, use seafoam it will make your cylinders and your intake ports/valves like brand new again and will clean internals 10x beter than any over the counter garbage STP style 'injector' cleaner, which is nothing more than a gimic.

when the o2 sensor goes out, youll first start noticing a change in the engine's behavior. soon after it will start misfiring, or the CEL will come on without much warning. but at some point in time the engine will start acting up and running rough due to bad o2 sensor data.

seafoam has been proven thousands of times to be safe and the entire bmw community has been using it for decades. You can put seafoam in your fuel at any time. You can use it as a oil FLUSH but you are only supposed to apply it 50 miles before your next oil change. Of course most people are retarded and can't read the label so they don't use it prolerly sometimes.
