Hey guys,
Replaced my steering damper today. what an amazing difference in steering feel. The car feels so much more planted now and the front end is less twitchy. In addition there is more steering firmness and resistance giving the car a much more confident feel. I absolutely love the steering now. The damper only cost roughly $25 and the labor about $15. Best thing you can do to help steering feel. Make sure yours is in good shape, if not I HIGHLY recommend it.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I got mine from the usual (autohausaz) for like $26, I usually buy filters as well since once your items tip $50 they'll ship for free.
All you have to do is jack up one side of the car, of course be safe and use jack stands and chocks. You should not have to jack up too high. There will be a cross member in the way which is why I said you'll need a 16mm box-end type wrench, I'm telling you it's a cake DIY, fifteen minutes max if you include jacking the car up. The steering damper looks like a mini shock absorber running from driver side to passenger side.
The yellow arrow shows why you'll need that box-end and ratchet as well, picture taken from driver's side.
