WTB 1997 C36

I am looking for a 1997 C36. If you know of any in good shape let me know. I will pay a fair price. No, this is not an opportunity for someone to unload a C36 for $15K. If anyone has one or knows someone that has one and you are serious about selling, please let me know. Total hassle free transaction promised.

Ted, I have a feeling I know what your up to.....

Not sure how many of you belong to benzworld, but this post has had me wanting a C36 for sometime now. Just something about them.

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w202...cs-thread.html

Everytime I see one for cheap I hear twin turbo whooooshh in my daydream. The possibility..

I'll keep my eye out bud.

real easy if you did trunk mount style and ran the same boost he's running now... lol- of course that would be completely pointless.

which is better, supercharging or turbo? also, is there a turbo system for our cars or do we have to go custom?

Depends on what you mean by better. In terms of efficiency and output, a turbo will out perform a supercharger. A turbocharger uses exhaust energy to drive it which would otherwise be wasted by being dumped out of the exhaust. A supercharger uses the crank to drive it, which is power that could otherwise be sent to the wheels. So a supercharger takes power to make power while a turbocharger theoretically does not. A centrifugal compressor, which is what is used on turbochargers and centrifugal superchargers, also tends to be more efficient than a twin screw or roots supercharger.

However, packaging is also something to consider. Turbochargers generally require more piping and hardware than superchargers. Obviously a supercharger can fit in a C43 engine bay but most are talking about putting turbochargers in the back bumper. I wouldn't consider that ideal.

I've heard too many horror stories about HPS Gen. I

I run a wet 50 shot post MAF through the supercharger. The adjustable fpr screws up the wet shot since it adds too much fuel when the fuel pressure increases for boost! Haven't found a way around that yet. Nitrous makes good power

but when i could buy another car for the price difference between used gen I and renntech- i think i'll take the "perceived" risk.
