300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Egr

valve would be a constant condition and show a different symptom and throw a coe on your obd2 scanner.
On the M113 engines, the symptom you describe ,no check engine light, car at operating temp and it stalls or you stop to go into a store and it won't start till it cools down for 20-30 minutes is usually the crankshaft position sensor.

classic cps complaint and common on the 99
you want the crankshaft sensor not the camshaft sensor that has a different problem associated with it.

have a good flashlight handy when you do the diy.

Near the rear of the (US) driver's side cylinder head. One piece of advice; if you don't have magnetized torx sockets, put a little bearing grease on it (or magnetize the socket).

If this doesn't make any sense, it will after you've dropped the bolt for the third time.
