Jacking up car with a floor jack + stainless steel brake lines
I am going to order the service manuals on CD but till then I thought I would ask here.
Does anyone have any pics to safely raise the car and then put in jack stands?
Also, what is a good place to buy stainless steel brake lines?
What about brake pads? I would like a high torque brake pad, dust is not a concern. The brake pads that are currently on the car (not sure what they are) are OK but not great. If I go the OEM route, what brand (Textar, Pagid, Jurid?) should I go with?
Thanks in advance
FRONT
Place a 12" piece of 2 x 4 lumber across your jack pad aligned transversely. Lift at the front crossmember just behind the plastic undertray.
REAR
Lift with the same 2 x 4, only aligned fore and aft under the differential.
JACK STANDS
Place under the rubber jack points along the bottom of the rocker panels. They are in line with, but below, the jack ports for the emergency jack that comes with the car.
If your car is lowered you may have to drive it up on some 2 x 12 lumber to get it high enough to roll the jack under it.

The car is low, so I will definitely have to get on the 2x12 lumber pieces to get a jack underneath.
Thanks again!

If the dealer has trouble finding them in the EPC they are listed in Group 60, Shell, Grommet, 030 Expansion plugs, grommets.
The pads are a round pad with an expansion plug that you drive home once the pads are located in the side member. They won't protrude far below the side skirts on the C36.
Do you happen to have the part numbers for the height adjustment shims by any chance?
I checked today and I think I am going to need a #3 or #4 on all four corners.
Thanks in advance,
