***The New Prototype***

First off... I would like to thank everyone for their support and inquiries. A special thanks goes to Brad O. @ EvoSport for finally pointing me in the right direction!!!

So, without further delay I would like to introduce - EP-1

https://mbworld.org/forums/attach...3&d=1213073202

Exhaust Plenum - 1 or E-P-1... That's what we call it!

This version is crafted from 304 stainless steel. The runners measure 1.75" on the O.D. leading into a 2.25" collector. They will be installed some time this week and testing will begin shortly after.

Check the CLK forum as for some reason these links don't work yet the CLK post does. For those out of the loop the W202/W208 share the same manifold fitment. Here ya go....

What kind of price are we looking at ghost? They look very similar to VRP's HEM's. With that said, I'm sure the design will be a success. If I recall you picked up 10whp with the previous design correct?

How much of the fabrication did you do yourself? I ask because I'm taking some courses this summer on welding/fabricating and I'm excited to start making stuff

didnt we just conclude that its better to get headers with integrated downpipes to eliminate the primary cats? or does messing with the o2 sensors pose more problems?

That's what I got help with!!! I actually got the idea from Brad at EvoSport, that's why he got the shot out... I made 10+ peak horsepower but I lost some of the low-end torque.

We are working on the pricing right now... I still have to do some testing to make sure it will work and work well!!

Kleemann was the the first to come up with this design and trust me I have been through my fair share of prototypes.

I did the design only and had to pull in some favors to get a fabricator willing to work on it.

Headers would be better but these manifolds here should still work better than what the car comes with stock. With these you'll be able to keep the primaries and not touch the O2's period.

If u klick on the links provided by ghost also, the rest of the exh setup is a must have if you are looking to wake up the breathing capabilities even furthur of the M113 motor. Trust me,this is very similar to the Kleemann setup which works great on my car.

The torque has not actually been lost,it just has moved up furthur in the rpm range to give you better midrange and topend power. That's what I have found.

I know what you mean... The midrange had some punch to it!!!

I think this design will do more to even out the powerband.

Good evening Gentleman...

I did pick up my car today, and it is good to have her back!!!

Now down to business:

Even with the new design, the EP-1's fit 'like a glove'. The only downside is to get a true measure of the headers performance I had the dealership install the full factory exhaust (all 4 cats). I can tell you that it is real punchy but nothing like it will be when the rest of the exhaust is installed.

The dyno is scheduled for Friday and I will be posting the results.

Drum Roll Please.....

A couple of things first, I really underestimated the amount of heat these things put out. I was getting massive heatsoak on the airbox and airtubes. With that problem corrected it was off to the dyno....

Setup:
W208 CLK55 AMG Airbox
Green Filters
EP-1's
Full Factory Center Section (All 4 Cats!!)
Eissamann Race Muffler

This all adds up to...

254 rwhp
244 rwtq

The new center section will be installed tomorrow and the dynos will follow after I rack up some miles. So, let me know what you think!!
