everything they could throw at it-

it's the shining example of why the C36 doesn't have the naturally aspirated potential some on here claim as the "sky is the limit"

that said, 340 hp is a great number and it is an awesome and rare car

although, makes you think why the c36 motor cant get to the 100hp/liter mark. i dont see why not, it has good construction and a solid valvetrain. honda and bmw do it N/A all the time... not as if theyre getting anywhere near the torque that MB's produce though.

yea true..right now, i'm ot really happy on how they Y piped the exhaust in front, two pipes run from the block down and they Y into one pipe then it splits to two cats, then one resonator, and out the back....the front to me feels like a bad design, wat if i just ran one pipe to each CAT, and then just have twop pipes run all the way through to the back? would it be bad? i mean i know i will lose backc pressure for sure, of wat if i fix that ugly Y pip they did it's horrible it looks like they made a mess of the exhaust in the front

you will make more power with some crossing over- need an x to run true duals.

The Y set-up flows enough

u could stay with the Y style, just up your diameter to ~3 inch piping, maybe a lil smaller and youd be good to go. supersprint makes headers for the c36, theyre the same ones that i could have purchased for my old c280...

i think bekkers has 'em

theyre 1800.... not quite as steep as the kleemann v8 headers for the c43's, but still kind of steep... just sell a bunch of medicinal pot or whatever you californians do for money

Not a chance sorry, I had a pretty agressive tune on mine and I felt stuff all difference.

Also, the 340bhp version of the C37RS motor has ITBs, I beleive that one is only around 290ish bhp.

The M104's are pretty responsive to intake tuning. Another member here had an M104 E320 with just a Gruppe M intake that performed freakishly well. With some BPU, you can have yourself some impressive gains with a broader, more responsive powerband:

Gruppe M Intake
Supersprint Headers
Lightweight Pulley
ECU Tune
Sprintbooster

The OEM AMG muffler flow very well, so there is little point to modify it for power gains. For improved sound, just cut out the resonators.

Larger displacement motors often need a muffler in back to generate adequate back pressure. You can get away with it in very low displacement motors, but at 3.6L I wouldn't jump the gun just yet, and do some homework on the matter. Exhaust systems are actually more complicated than many presume, as it is exhaust velocity that makes power.

If you already deleted the muffler, I would leave the resonator (deleting it is purely for sound aural purposes, and no power gains are made). Ideally, a catalyst delete with 02 simulators to counter CEL issues will yield some noticeable gains...at the cost of failing emissions though.

Also, there is this device called an electronic cutout. At the flip of a switch, you can have either straight pipes or OEM spec exhaust, or anything in between.

i didn't want to waste the weight or i would have gone with cutouts

that said- on the C36 rather than a boosted 43 (ie- with tons less tq) i'd be surprised if free flowing exhaust will actually help.
