After Accelerating from 70 to 80 miles per hour

to a full stop, there is a rattling noise from the back of the car. I cleared all the stuff from the trunk including the jack/spare tire to make sure that these are not causing the weird rattling noise. Went out to test drive and these rattling is still going on. I just bought the car about a couple of weeks ago, and i must say that this is my very first MB C43 ///AMG. Bouhgt it from a small dealer with 99,000 miles on her without records when last serviced.

First of all, let me introduce my self, my name is Tito (C43silverbullet) from Santa Clara, CA (BayArea). Anyway, do you guy's have any idea what's causing this noise? Warpped rotors? Suspension? I have no idea!!! Please help...

TIA,

Did

you follow the cardinal rule and have the car inspected before purchase?
Decelerating from speed and a rattle. You may need to examine your cats for internal failure. You are over the 8year/80,000 mile warranty on the cats.Is it still doing it even at idle?Any check engine light?Take heart that it is only a ten grand car and if a cat failed you can replace it yourself after having a shop confirm that is what failed.Or you can check it yourself.
Tell us exactly what it is doing. Is it making the sound only in gear, all the time now, etc.
I don't want to be an alarmist but it sounds like you are worried and a little in over your head and Forum members feel that.If you are at all in doubt there are plenty of local members to post a shout out that may help you,or http://www.theworkshopmb.com/Coverage-Area.htm
or some other indie shop a member in the area can refer you to,before you inadvertently do some damage.
I wish you well

ya the cats sounds like a possiblity, just kinda knock your exhaust under your car a little bit, see where the noise comes from....when i stock cats went out, i just Y piped my two pipes from the block and ran one 3" thru a OBD2 Magnaflow cat, price was around, 300 from magnaflow, but well worth it! car drives awesome...i have your number i will text for even call you sometime? sound good? seeing you juss bought the car also, check your oil, your plugs, and also, check around your engine. you should be good, bt it doesn't hurt to look!

Smile Thank you all for the quick replies

to be honest, No inspection before the purchase, got way over excited when i saw the car.(sorry my big mistake) i don't think that is the cats, coz i can drive around town for 15 / 20 minutes with idle no problems, no check engine light or any lights on the dash. But, when i take the car to freeway and do 70/80 miles for even just 2/3 minutes and to a full stop, that is when the purrrr, burrrr, ratlling or more like suspension settling in the back of the car. I already made an appoinment with my mechanic (Rob Dietsch) for oil change, plugs, brakes, check this annoying noise, and complete inspection of the car. Then i will let you all know the result by next week. Oh, lenny i know Goldies, he is a fellow filipino who customized the full exhaust on my '77 530i with a 3.5 swapped. Give me a call sometime so we can meet.
Well, i want to thank you all for the responses and will post a thread by next week..

Appreciate it

We

will keep our fingers crossed it is not the guts of a cat.You can do your own plugs for about 16 @ 2.89 ea. for platinums and 32bucks for the 17mm boot tool delivered from me,diy is very easy if you take your time and follow directions. You can do your own oil changes also.
It is time to change your trans fluid and filter mb spec fluid only and you have a drain on the torque converter on your year so you can drain it also.
good luck with the inspection.Let the carrot go before the horse next time please
