C36, is there a market?
1997 C36 120,000
Silver on Black
No body damage, interior is in neat cleanable condition.....
Anyone know the going rate on these cars... KBB really dosent mean much to me.. i know on my C43 i was going to pay whatever it took to get the one i wanted... =))
i'll be honest with you i bought mine with similar mileage in january 2008 with 120,000 miles black on black rims i piad the guy 7500, so u better try and get it for like 7000 or even 6500 maybe even less cuz it's damaged like, 5000 they are REALLY fun cars man
i can get it less than all of the above..... it has a salvage title tho.... Try to explain that to a person when i decide to sell it.... like i said it really needs nothing but 2 airbags and a front glass... hmmmm...
its pretty funny why i want to buy it..........
If i dont buy it... my buddy is going to cut the car to pieces and sell the quarters, fenders, roof and the whole car as pieces.... And me being the MB lover, dont want to see a semi-rare piece of running and driving AMG History end up as scrap....
I just sold my 96 w/ less miles, clean title, 18' wheels, awesome running condition for 5500 ! to a forum member.
So you should pay no more than 2K ! It kills me that other non AMG Benz's from similar years are fetching more money than the 36's and 43's. What gives ?

One thing that everyone has yet to mention is how the car will actually perform as a winter beater. If the car has any gusto left in her the rear wheel drive along with the low clearance is gonna be tricky some days. Combined with the fact it has no airbags. Maybe some studded tires if they allow it, or a couple dead hookers in the trunk for weight? Assuming your NY weather is like it is here in NH the roads can get tricky.
I started leasing cheap fwd 4 bangers for the winter and commutes. Made my life alot easier than fixing/buying beaters every season. Although the idea of a C36 as a beater car sounds alot cooler than my current lease.
If you feel its safe I wouldn't hesitate being that its on the cheap and you could get your coin back with parts if needed.
When my buddy starts parting it out i'll let you guys know.....
