Just got home with the C43 from N.C.!!

Well it is 9:30 pm and the car is in the garage.660 MILE TRIP HOME.Made it in 9 hrs.Really enjoyed the ride home and the car exceeded all my expectations. It is flawless as noted and rock solid.Funny thing happened in maryland when a c63 and a Charger srt/8 were playing. The c63 driver pulled along side me and nodded his head pointed to the srt/8 in the background and just annilated the rear tires at about 65mph! I played with the srt/8 once I have to admit. We both punched at 70 mph and I honestly can say that srt/8 aint all that.IT SOUNDS REAL GOOD THOUGH.A little farther into the trip the C63 and myself just happened to fuel up at the same time. The guy was cool and commented how nice my car was saying,''the c43 was an awsome ride back in the day''.I told him that I just bought it etc,he said that '' your lucky to find such a nice example, your car is real clean''.Made me feel real good about the purchase. Here is this guy with 70k car really admiring mine.So yea,I did well.Great experience and will never forget the ride home! Let the mod's begin!

no offense to any C63 owners, but i think the C43 is way cooler. mainly because of the vintage factor and the rarity, and the fact that it was the first AMG car to be completely built in the affalterbach factory. no, c36's were not completely built in affalterbach, just the motor...

I drove home next to a C63 yesterday and I have to admit it is a pretty sexy car.....much more so in person than in the mags and pics, etc.

Is it the last then too? Thought the AMGs just had their engines built and plugged at Affalterbach, but the rest of the car is already made?

My son and I made a cross country trip from Chesapeake, Virginia to West Hollywood, California in his C43 last July. We drove 3,218 miles in five days; we had a total average of 22.62 mpg driving 10-15 over the speed limit most of the time. We did have a burst or two up to 140 on I-70 through Kansas and lots of passing on two lanes in Utah and Arizona.

We were both pleasantly shocked at how comfortable the car is. We drove at least 8 hours per day with the longest being about 12 hours from Denver over Loveland Pass, down through Moab and on to Williams, Arizona (lots of detours for photos). Neither of us experienced any fatigue whatsoever, simply amazing. I own two other W202 C-Class', a 1995 C280 and a 2000 C280 Sport. There is really no comparison between those (admittedly very nice) cars and the C43. The AMG package really transforms the car with great power (even at altitudes over 11,000 feet), handling that truly inspires confidence at any speed and superb comfort.

The bottom line - I think you will enjoy the car immensely, especially if you get it out on the open road and go somewhere. Only then car you really get a feel for the cars' real virtues.
