New C43 owner

Just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I am active on other boards but have never posted here before. I purchased a 1999 C43 last week. It is Silver with Black/ Black interior. The only other option group is the Xenon package. The car has about 40K miles and seems to be in very good condition. So much so that I drove the car cross country from LA to So. Fla. over this past weekend.

Uhhhhhhhhhh... probably about the same. It is a Sporty Car but not a Sports Car in stock trim. It is a far different animal than any Porsche that I have ever owned. Keep in mind that this is a 10 year old car that was most likely designed in the early 90's. I know that our 993's were really designed over 40 years ago, but they were originally designed as Sports Cars. This car was designed to be powered by engines from the C180 on up.... The uniqueness of the car gives it its character and that's something that modern cars tend to have a lot less of....

Very nice car. Great find with those low miles. I think you'll love it in the long run. I picked mine up in Atlanta a little over 3-years ago and drove it home to Dallas. Nothing like a long distance drive to get to know it well.

I'd only recommend one thing for your car. Check my post here:

John

To the OP - have you had the HB (harmonic balancer) recall done on your vehicle ?

Welcome aboard

Nice catch, esp. with the mileage and welcome aboard - heed C43's advice (if you have not, bring in a new belt too so they can replace it while you're there, otherwise they'll charge you $70 for a $25 part)

A Fiat 500! - cool deal where do you find parts for that nowadays? My ol' gramps, back when I was in Spain had a Seat 600 (said se-aat, built under the Fiat license in Spain)

Plenty of parts available here stateside for the 500. I bought it in Italy last year and brought it here at the end of this past summer. Seat, Polski, Zestava and even Yugo all built Fiats under license over the years. Now Chrysler may be retailing the Nuevo 500 through its dealer network.
