What springs/pads/shocks would get you there? Don't care about being too comfy, at the same time don't want meh filllings to come loose..

I did a search, but it seems like there're so many combianations, that trial an error is needed. And there's no one solution as each car left the factory with a different setup.

Think what the original poster was saying, is that if you look at two cars sitting at the same height from the factory - they could have different pads/spring/shocks combo. So lets say you want to lower both cars to the same level - without changing all the parts of both, you won't be able to get them to look the same.

Let me find the thread and link it....

I don't think that is the case. The factory builds it to spec and it is what it is.Now there may be a variation from a Euro model to a US model but I believe that would be the only variance.

Pads varied by each car. mine had #4 front #3 rear for no good reason at all.

Lowere Suspension opinions needed...with 18s

Currently the SUV height is at a full credit car in the front, and 3/4 of a credit car in the rear.

I had the car up on the lift today, and both front and back have number 2 pads.

My springs should be here soon, Volt-something.. Now, I'm leaning towards Konis...

With this combination of springs and shocks, to maintain a slight rake and an even drop - I'm thinking I'll need a number 1 pad up front.

What you guys think?

very Nice...a lil too low for the bad roads around here though..i will like to be tad higher...

What shocks r u running? And just came across a thread which list two different #1s of varying height depending on VIN# Why they had to make it so much work...lol

our c36 sits like it's on stilts or wants to be an suv. has the thickest ones, completely stock. back in 97, i had a friend park his regular stock c280 (except for the amg monoblocs) next to ours, and his was almost an inch lower.

and quite a bit later, we also had a chance to compare what i assume was a stock c36 as well, but his c36 sat lower..

oh btw, on the mercedes database, the vin check brings up 4 piston calipers in the front.

but guess what? when i went to change the pads, our c36 only has the sliding single piston ate crap.. no wonder i always thought the brake pedal to feel a bit spongy. and yes, our car is stock and has been since we got it in 96

Here are some side shots as you request..
for the shock, i kept stock ones, in my opinion..pointless to go for aftermarket.
stock bilstein shocks are strong enough,

on my other 202 i have H&R and bisltein sport shock..i don't see a difference at all.

Thanks!...that's lower than my porsche.. If I'm that low, me thinks I be eating speed bumps all day around these here parts.. Think I'll stick with the #2 for now, hmm..but then the spring 1.5 drop..still might look like a lil suv....oh well too many variables...but thanks for taking the time to post the pics...I'll still get some #1s from my buddy just in case....

My shocks fell good, but there's a lil body roll on hard cornering, then again I'm comparing it to HDs/M030s on my other car. which might not be a fair comparison.
