Stop this pissing contest, it's really getting annoying. If you're going to start a fight, do it against the e30/e36 m3's or something.
The c36 and the c43 have their great points and advantages over each other, but none are better than the other. Com'n now. Lets just oogle over OP's 202.

Umm I never knew AMG did "serious" chassis mods to the C43 to fit that "smaller then the M104 engine" in the engine bay?? LOL
FYI "IF" I wanted to drop in a 5.5L in my C36 (which I never said i wanted to do in the first place anyways...) I would have to change out tranny, computer, harness etc.. but do not have to mod the chassis.

Do some research man before you get into these arguments. Ive had 5 w202s in my family and ive been researching them for probably 5 years now because they are my favorite cars.
Imho C43 is easily capable of everything an M3 does, its just a different feel and the fact that a C43 was a lot more expensive(because its a muscle, sports, and a luxury car all at the same time) only put it behind the M3

Been told many times to keep it on topic.

Dude! There is not a normally aspirated C36 that would run anywhere, with my lightly modded M3 that I know of. And Im an AMG guy. Read this article on the cars capabilities stck vs stck.

One thing I do not understand from that article is, WHY it has the 0-60 time at 5.9 for the C36? When the actual time of a stock C36 is 5.5-5.6!??
WEIRD.

Theres no point, im just trying to let u know that there is no need for you to say stuff like "C43 is not a real AMg coz they just used an engine out of a E430'' every time theres a c36 VS a c43 argument, especially when your car in fact is just a c280.

Enough saying the C36 is only a c280.
BTW, I own 2 W202's currently, and have 3 more friends that own them aswell...
I guess you really don't understand that the C36 and C43 are BOTH amazing rare cars in there own ways, and that they are BOTH special in there own seperate ways. They drive TOTALLY different, and they act TOTALLY different, But one thing is true, they are BOTH AMG's, they are both rare/special, and BOTH are SICK.
End of Convo.

Sold - CLK500
i have driven PJ'S car and i can say that is handles very well! i have never driven a c36! but it felt balanced well and very flat around corners! it would be a monster if it had coilovers! the brakes were also much better than the 4 pistons in my clk500!

WOW this thread has spiraled out of control. I wonder if I should go back and read any of it. Possibly has some vital information I could use
I know I havent updated this topic in quite a while but it only seemed as though my wheels were spinning and im not talking about my car. Last thing i remember posting was something about tunning my car with a piggy back system. After much back and fourth i realized that my laziness was getting the better of me. So I contacted LET or Eurochrged(not sure which one is correct) and was suppose to be tuned February 2nd then three feet of snow delayed that. Then it was the 13th and another foot came down. Delayed again Now it is set for the 6th of March.
I have determined a few things up till now
1:
These 2 bolt holes go all the way through and created a boost leak since I first did the install. This is what actually allowed my car to run at perfect stociometric efficiency. Once fixed it ran pig rich and barely idled. I created a vac leak then slowly took it away to allow for the adaptation to take affect. Now it idles and WOT the car does not let out. Problem is the AFRs are spotty. Tune here I come
2: The high pitiched whining noise I was hearing is coming from my transmission front pump and will be fixed when the 55k trans goes in.
3: The paint on the charger and valve covers looked like **** after all the miles i put on the car so i removed all the paint. what do you think?
Now the official next upgrade will be the 190mm pulley. Go big or go home!! I will isolate the cooling sytem for the S/C to aid in the drastic increase in air temps the pulley will generate. Headers might be cutom if i am able to convert my steering gear box to a rack and pinion (manual or assist?) Otherwise Kleemann will be used.
OFF TOPIC....slightly
Blackbenzz was talking to me about the SLR intercoolers and I thought that would be a great application for my car. Priced them out at my price and they go for around $8000 a side Needless to say they are out of the question.
Then I started looking at the SLK55, E55 with the SLR engine swap and was looking at the picks and something caught my eye
It goes the same for the E55. He might have the internals but that is 100% not a SLR engine. I'm not saying he doesn't have a load of money because all the parts run higher than some AMG cars. No dry sump could be detected from the under shot. Oil filter is located under the car and the valve covers are are not suppose to have an oil fill port. Someone might have pointed this out but I haven't seen one. I serviced an SLR 722 in July last year. Lower pick is of the dry sump and oil filter on the real SLR
Ill post numbers and future updates when they become available.

Have we all learned to never doubt money-one? The man is on point! Best MB tech I've ever met
190mm I know your car will be a BEAST when it's done. If you really want top mount intercoolers we can git er done (not SLR ones haha)

money-one, it was probably eurocharged. they were going to do mine as well but with the bodyshop dragging their feet it wasn't going to happen on the original date. if its rescheduled again for the 6th I should be able to swing that- the car finally went to get fixed tonight at a different and more willing shop.
btw, you the guy at herb's?

That kind of speed would indicate a quarter of roughly a low 9 to a high 8. I would **** my pants if I pulled that off.
Where are you located? 55k would still be awesome

I'm 45 min north of Boston, MA. I would love to do a 55K but the car is on a serious budget build until I get a house with a garage and/or finish my degree. It also may become my daily driver once the FordFocus lease is up. I plan on a simple 5.5L setup like you had. Simple turnkey N/A setup.
I would entertain putting you up somewhere interesting like Boston for the night, or maybe Portsmouth, NH if needed. Maybe make it weekend vaca for the girl/wife and yourself. I'v been told it's a one day job for a good tech with an extra hand.
I also live about 30 min from NEdragway which is supposed to be one of the best in the country.
