Seat swap
So I came upon a deal too good to pass up..so today I spent my afternoon swapping a C43 seat set into my C36, all went well with the exception of a few minor things:
the rear seat backs- I'm going to need to go back and pull the brackets out of the donor car as well since they are fold down sectional seats and my original seat back was one piece.
the front seat heaters- connector went from a 4-pin type to a 4-spade connector, just going to make up a short harness to splice the two together.
the ortho controls- need to check the PSE on the donor car to see if its different from mine then run the lines to the seat and I should have working ortho seats too.
SRS lamp- it came on on first startup after swapping them but I didnt have time to scan it to see if it was current or stored, I may have to swap some pins around.
All in all, it was a pretty straightforward switch, no real big problems and I got to vacuum out the nastyness under the front seats. I did find someones high school ring under the rear seat so I'm going to try and track them down and return it to them.

AMG C43, 1999
Do you know what the seat weighs. Either the C36 or the C43. Maybe put a bathroom scale under one and weigh it up. I am soooo curious as to how much they actualy weigh.
That is a very cool swap.
Thanks in advance if you can weigh them for me.

Did that steering wheel come standard on the c36 (the white top, bottom and horn indicator) or did you swap out the c43 wheel in there? If that's the c36 stock, i'm interested as to why Mercedes took out some of the white two tone on the c43 steering wheel... o_O

Pretty sure the later C36's (some/most 97s and all 98s) came with that steering wheel while earlier C36's (95 and 96) came with the old style.

Odd. i dont have that steering wheel. Mine is black all around, minus for the top part which has a bigger portion of white than the steering wheel in the pics above.
