What are these??
Can someone explain to me what these are and why they aren't hooked up to anything.
This one runs out and behind the bumper all the way across to the other side and it is not hooked up to anything as far as I can tell.
This one I just noticed a few minutes ago, I have never noticed it before and once again it wasn't hooked up to anything
Both of these are in my trunk (boot)

First pic looks to be a co-axial hookup for a cellphone antenna or something of that nature, no worries there.
The second one is hard to really say, its obviously a vacuum line though. The only thing I know of back there that has vacuum lines going to it is the trunk lock mechanism. Can you lock and unlock the whole car from the trunk lock? I know on mine it will unlock and lock the whole car. Just a thought, hope that helps a little.

I have that same co-ax cable on the left side of my trunk too...and I found that wiring in my armrest for the in car phone. When I punched my VIN into that Russian Benz club site's VIN decoder, it mentioned something about being pre-wired for a car phone.
I'd like to get that fridge armrest though, that'd be cool.

Some Saabs had a fridge in the glove compartment. Some Land Rovers have them in the arm rest. I was searching for stuff in the WIS and came across 'AMG minibar' option, which talks about a 'cool box' that goes into the armest. Then there's another 'refrigerator box' that looks like there was an option for a fridge in the trunk!

Well, mine is an original MB battery. The one I have in my other MB (C240) is a Bosch and it also has the opening to connect the vent pipe.

So where does your battery vent?
As for the fridge, the Maybach 62 has one beween the rear seats. Other cars have them too. The last Phanton Drophead Coupe I saw had one under the false floor in the trunk. Where you'd expect the spare to be. I don't know if it was standard or optional.

Here's another shot of the Phantom. Notice the door handles? Suicide doors. The roof is stored under a wood cover.

Battery vents through the pipe and chassis to the open air underside. Battery gas is a combination of hydrogen (explosive stuff) and acidic fumes (corrosive) So if the battery is in a confined space, better to have some form of venting. Under the bonnet is not too much of a problem due to air circulating inside.
