for that much, why not just swap in the 5.5K engine?

The 5.5K engine requires a LOT more parts to swap in... Would end up costing much much more than the 5.5NA with an aftermarket supercharger... There are two guys on here that have done 5.5k motor swap and the list of stuff they had to do to keep the engine from chewing up superchargers was very long and very costly. But now that I am thinking about it... Maybe it would be about the same... The kleeman charger is 10k... Maybe we can get them to chime in... But the 5.5k motor is a lot more than a used NA 5.5.... Hmmm

im talking for the 20,000-30,000 range
it'd be 469 hp stock without any tuning whatsoever
and i think it would be less than 20,000 to do it and it would be more reliable and more power
i would love to do the 5.5k swap

I don't know. 5.5K motor in good condition is an EZ 10k not installed. Plus you have no choice but upgrading to a better tranny and thats at least 5k not installed. Plus the 5.5k motor does not just drop in. You need all new ECU to control the MB charger or it will run all the time and burn up... So thats another 1k. Plus, you wouldnt be able to run that engine with our exhaust, customer exhaust 4.5k.... It adds up. This is all with out install... So plus another 3k? So this way is still close to 24k when all is said and down. Plus, the 5.5k engine requires an all new cooling system for the engine bay and thats also more $$$ and time for install $$$. Its not cheap either way...

hmm dangg, i guess you're right
anybody chime in and get some real numbers? for comparison

is the kleeman supercharger 100 hp on top of the 350hp 5.5 engine?
also, i thought the c43 tranny was quality built, same with my c36 tranny

It is a flow through design and it is their race version. I have to get a new piece made from the resonator back to the muffler and I will wait until the spring as she is hibernating for the winter. Here is what it looks like, oh and this one says that it is for a C43.

My buddy has that muffler on his C43 and it sounds CRAZY!!! I prefer the AMG muffler tone but if you are looking to sound like a race car then this muffler is the ticket . He was driving through a tunnel and revved it up to show off the exhaust and a GT3 came smashing up next to him and gave him a thumbs up, the GT3 then immediately blew his doors off

If the car passes emission test without these secondary cats, why keep them?
The emission specs in Germany are SUPER strict, they are really concerned about the enviornment. This is why they have secondary cats as well as "sealed" transmissions. I imagine you wouldn't be able to pass Germany's emission tests without them. I removed the secondary cats and pass DEQ with flying colors. You don't need them in the U.S. and all they do is restrict, take those bad boys off...

True, German emission specs are tough just like here in Switzerland, so if I can get the right emission numbers when doing the test (every 2 years) without the secondary cats, no need to keep them. I may even consider 200 cell primary cats for an even better flow. I don't know how long cats live before needing changing.

We should sticky this as an Exhaust thread for new people that have questions or do we want to make a better one? Either way we need one!

I agree, but according to the info I read on the UK site, the owner who had this delete pipe installed says the sound is definitely more V8 sounding without getting too noisy and closer to a C63 sound Now if that is true, that would make it symphonic pornography IMO

I was looking for the Eisenmann muffler for the C43 to see how much they were and I could not find one on the Eisenmann website so I contacted the Eisenmann dealer about the muffler and here is the reply I got:

"Hello,
Thanks for your inquiry. Although a W202 C43 AMG Eisenmann system is not a catalog item, we do provide it as a special order product. The wait time would be between 4-6 weeks. The price is $1247.84. I have attached a picture of exactly the system you are asking about that we had made for a previous client. Please feel free to contact me further with any other questions."

WOW $1250 is A LOT for a muffler but it does have the 2 inlet pipes so you wouldn't need to go to a Y pipe. You could run headers to some race cats to an X pipe and then straight into the muffler, I bet you would pick up some pretty decent gains but it would cost around $3000-$4000

You need to use the CLK 430 version if you want to install a Eisenmann.
