So how much power does this motor put out with the stock c43 ecu? Not tuned...

if it stock, should be between 345hp>>362hp, depend of Engine/gearbox health,,

it can reach 380hp>>400hp if it modified, without turbo or supercharger...

With a ML motor, should i reflash the ecu or just use it as it is. Plug it all together and turn the key over basically...

You have to put C43 Engine harness/TB into ML Engine, and using C43 ECU, it will fire-up perfectly...

the ecu you're talking about, is it the one inside the plastic black box in the engine bay?
you don't don't touch that ecu, just leave it the way it is hooked up to the new engine?

It's the main ECU/MSG, in the module CAN box,

just leave it as it is,,

of course need to reset/adapt the whole system after Engine swap...

After swap everything, you have to use STAR/SDS and check if any fault present, reset all system to see if everything compatible,,

don't use any other device, STAR/SDS is the best to complete this job properly...

zayed

the intake manifold on c43 engine is it the same size and partsnumber on e55 engine?
SAABO's c43 engine transplant was not without headache when he had trouble with his e55 engine and it turned out it was the intake manifold which was faulty.
are both engine manifolds the same?

it's good to know if they can be swapped over?

All M113 intakes are the same, no difference,

as i remember; vince opened his intake to reseal it, then problem persists, for that he replace it...

ECU may catch some faulty fuel/air mix., via E-prom/RON or via O2 sensors, and save it to the data/memory, should to see first what kind of codes will appears...

so best thing to do is: install engine, start car, connect STAR to ecu, check codes, reset possible codes and finally let ecu re-learn the new engine by driving the car for few hundred miles?
this is what to do, step by step?
