The stock mounts seem fine. Engine vibration was one of the things that was never an issue.

If these last longer then i guess its worth it. Are they same price?

For an engine swap i guess its good to have heavier duty mounts

+1,

When i swap to 5.4l, i thought about stiffer mounts, i found better idea to go with 55K mounts,

i believe MB needs to put more heavy duty mounts to handle 463hp vs 306hp>>354hp..!

Hello Zayed,

Do you feel any more vibration with E55K mounts?

Does the engine sit higher than stock?

C43 mounts seem fine but there is some engine deflection when quickly changing direction... long time ago I changed C230 M111 mounts to M113 ..the whole car felt much tighter with very little increase in vibration

Cheers,

Hi Paul,

How's going with your C43/55..?

honestly; i'm not that sure about Engine height with stock mounts,

no any kind of vibration with any driving positions at all..

I just recently finished up rebuilding my w210 E55 motor. New piston rings, rod bearings, valve job, new chains and guides, oil pump, everything resealed, plugs, all OEM parts, etc. It has nickle and dimed me but it's done and I'm dropping it in this Thursday. I can't wait! Couple old hotrod tricks during the build too

I saw a guy on the club MB UK site on his rebuild he swapped the water outlet to the other side head. I don't know if this is due to being right hand drive... but this is not needed for USA cars.

I also used an oil pump from a later m113 motor, it is underdriven by 4 teeth compared to my 2000 e55 motor. matching pump chain needed.

that was me

From what I've been able to tell, the E55K motor mounts are the same part number as the S55, including the NA version from 2001 and 2002. As far as geometry, I couldn't tell you yet as I haven't ordered them but I plan to give them a try.

I think the only differences are with the oil pan and probably oil pump and sump pick up.
