Guess you can still squeeze inside despite the cage That is going to stiffen the chassis no end Have you an idea how much weight the cage is?? Keep up the good work

Is the gearbox from the 203 C240/320? ,Looks the same as the one iv just bought but im still waiting on shipping...if so will be interesting to see how it holds up with the 5.4 as its also what im hoping to run.

i'm guessing a diesel gearbox so it can take the torque.. but with different ratios. This is such an awesome project. I can't wait to see the full widebody painted and detailed.

That would mean the gearbox would need to have come from a 2005+ W203 or similar V6 3L/3.2L diesel....didnt realise they made those in manual!.

Edit: Theres speculation on other forums regarding the torque of the V6 diesel being reduced when mated to the manual trans...wouldnt mind betting its the same trans used on the M112's,possibly with different ratios.

How did you fix the cf roof with the cars body?

Remember for the big front wheels you want to install you will also need to cut some metal out of the wheel housing. Otherwise you will have some trouble steering...

I thought they were installing front and rear sub frames from a W210... so being wider that should give perhaps some extra room

It is not the fender that causes problems but parts of the body/frame/internal wheel housing.

Well, since Alex is not entertaining you enough, let me comment the pics and try and answer your questions. We've done a rally spec rollcage to meet the fia regulations, because the car is going to take part in different events inside and outside Russia. So, at the moment the car is being resprayed. After that we'll do the wiring and begin assembling. The roof is mounted with the special glue, we borrowed from e92 m3 service manual, so we're quite sure, it will withstand everything. Speaking about the tranny, it is a petrol gearbox from w203 c240/320 with a diesel clutch and release bearing. Besides, we bought a very big rear diff and going to fit it with a quite lsd from c32. Finally, we cut unnecessary metal from the wheel arches and replaced it with light plastic covers. Thus, we solved the steering problem (wheels used to clip arches in full lock) and saved some weight. Cheers, guys! We'll keep the news coming.

Did the manual transmission bolt up? It doesn't look like you have an adapter plate.

it didn't bolt up without any problems - the "bell" is slightly modified. Still the conclusion we can draw is that both petrol and diesel gearboxes can fit if needed.
Besides, I want to mention that alongside the w210 subframes the car got the w210 amg steering rack instead of that old piece of **** whatever it is called. And our cf roof has already been tested by the leader of our team ( almost 200lb )
