What does your gearshifter look like?

Hey all:

I was wondering if you can tell me what your gearshifter looks like? I wanted to see if other year models are differnt than mine.

I have a 98 C43 and my shifter is black leather with a MB star and Sport written on it.

Thanks

DLS

I like this one but if it said C43 and not G55

I saw another version of this at a dealer on a G55 it said V8, THAT I LIKED!

I have the 2-tone knob aswell. The silver is wearing at the edges just like on the steering wheel where I always put my hand.

Re: What does your gearshifter look like?

Coincidentally, I was just hunting on EBay for a wood shifter with the AMG logo.
Any clues where to get one? I saw one on autorice.com, but
1) I don't know if I can get past the name...:p
2) They were outta stock.
I think it was $99.
There is a plain wood one at formymercedes.com for $69, anybody deal with these folks?

Yeah the shifter I have seen on ebay are like J Irwin's.

I did see a loooooooooooong time ago, on benzsport (rip) an insert that had the AMG logo on it. I think 2phast found it somewhere on a Japanese website. If I recall correctly, you can swap out the logo on the knob. Can anyone confirm?

Scorchie:

Are these inserts, or do you overlay them on the knob? Do you have any pics? If they are inserts, how do you "insert" them? Do you have any you would want to part with? If not, where can I get one or two? LOL. Sorry, I've wanted one since I had my old C280 and now that I have my C43 I would much rather have a cooler shiftknob than a MB Star and Sport on it.

Thanks

About the phone it was the old analog phone which I don't intend to use anyway.

I have replaced my headunit, front dash tweeter, front foor midbass, rear deck tweeter.

Basically I have run a new cable for those speaker and didn't use the skinny OEM one..

I also have aftermarket amps and crossover as well.

I have custom box and amp deck in the trunk..

In short I didn't use any of the OEM audio system.

These are inserts that replace the "star" logo on the shifter... if you look at the picture I posted above, they replace it just like that. I will post pictures in a couple days. I have a couple that are the tree logo and the /////AMG logo on a black background. I also have the /////AMG logo on the CF.

Hey Greg, well I don't have any for sale really... I just picked them up in Japan. But if you really want one I guess I can part with one of your choice. Come look at them next time we're all around. I'll mail you with a new schedule I am putting together of "mod nights".

Would you know if the place you got them from in Japan has a site? Any info you can get to me would help, ie store name, location, cost.

Thanks!
