I posted before that I decided to go all out on my suspension and pretty much replace EVERYTHING. Here are the parts I need to have everything replaced:
  • Tie rod ends
  • Ball joints
  • Upper control arms
  • Sway bar and bushings (Maybe just bushings depending on if there is a better sway bar for the C43)
  • Rear control arm kit

I totaled everything up and it gonna be just under $600, I AM SO CLOSE!! Once I have the rest of the parts it's INSTALL TIME I will be ordering these parts in the next week or so, again my goal is to have everything installed by the end of February. I figure this should really give me the new car feel as well as reduce the possibility of suspension woes in the future.

By the end of February I should have the following:

1.) Avantgarde grille installed
2.) Windows tinted
3.) Suspension installed (EVERYTHING UPGRADED OR REPLACED)
4.) New center caps installed
5.) ECU tune from Eurocharged

Are you planning replacing the suspension bits with oem pieces? Not sure about the c43, but I know eibach makes a front and rear sway bar kit for the c36. I am kinda thinking about doing the same thing....just replace everything under there.

Looking fwd to seein the pics of the grill.....probably gonna place an order shortly

Got my appointment to get my windows tinted tomorrow, will post pics as soon as I get my car back. My appointment is @ 1:30pm so I will have pics posted in the evening I am thinking about going 30% on all windows except the windshield, the legal limit around here is 35% but I am sure I can get away with 30% with no hassle from the fuzz.

Just be careful, its not always a visual thing. They have a small hand-held unit that they can measure the tint with. They roll down your window partially and slide it over and it shines a light through and measures how much light passes through the tint.

If you don't have vehicle inspections, you should be fine, but that is one of the tests they do during a vehicle inspection in North Carolina.

I do NOT recommend trying to get away with darker tint in any state has a regulation. They are major a$$'s about it here in Texas. The police here have tint meters and right tickets in parking lots.

So I got my windows tinted with the 30% tint but when I picked up my car they said they would meter out @ 20%. My brother had his windows tinted to 5% for years and never got a ticket, I hope I have the same luck . Cops around here won't pull you over for having dark windows but if they have you pulled over for something else they WILL add that to the list if they can...

Here is the bad part:

When I got my car back my stereo didn't work The CD player is on and I can switch between all sources just fine but there is no sound, I assume they must of disconnected a wire to a speaker by accident or something. I'm going to call the tinting place tomorrow and see if they removed my baffle board to tint the rear window.

EDIT: I just realized that my interior lights are not working when I open the door. They work when I use the buttons but opening the door does nothing for the interior lights. I am assuming they must of disconnected other wires on accident, this is annoying.

UPDATE:
Problem solved

1.) I feel like an idiot, the interior lights were not working because they turned them off using the button next to the lights (I didn't even know it was there) because they had the door open to tint the windows and they didn't want to drain my battery, I pushed the button and the interior lights work now

2.) This next one has me confused, I called the window tinting place up and they said they do not remove interior panels (I thought they did and disconnected a wire or something, not the case) but sometimes the soapy water they use to apply the tinting will come in contact with speakers and their connections which will cause the speaker to short and blow a fuse or not work until it dries. I was VERY skeptical about this but they told me to go out to my car and try it again, sure enough I have sound again. I don't understand how water will cause my speaker to not work without blowing a fuse unless Bose has installed some sort of protector like you see on home stereos if you cross two wires together. Either way I have sound and lights again so I am happy ESPECIALLY with the tinting it is TOP NOTCH Lifetime warranty on anything and everything that could happen to the tint.

Alexia's auto glass I HIGHLY recommend them if you are in the area, good customer service and EXCELLENT work. They won't let anyone touch your car without 5+ years experience tinting windows, they even offer a school to tint windows that people from across the nation are lining up to go to. They do all of the surrounding dealerships tinting and when I was there I saw several dealership reps picking up vehicles.

I will post pics after I wash my car

UPDATE:

Drag link and steering damper have arrived, I will be ordering the following this week:
  • Tie rod ends
  • Ball joints
  • Upper control arms
  • Rear control arm kit
These parts will be the last I need to replace my suspension, then it's install time I should have one of the best handling W202's out there.

I will post pics of everything before I install the parts.

Buddy, what was the brand names of these suspension parts you bought?
Were they all Lemfoerder = the best!
Or 2nd best FEBI?
www.pelicanparts.com rates their parts for how good they are in quality.
soon you'll have a new feel in uspension

FEBI is good.
Do you know why Meyle reliesed their HD line?
Their previous quality line was so poor, parts broke down very fast!
Now, all their new HD line was developed 2gether with LUFTHANSA aviation engineers, now they are to be better in quality.
This is what I was told.
If you buy Meyle always buy HD version.

UPDATE:

Just ordered new ball joints, front lower control arms, rear control arm kit, and rear sway bar links. I was going to order a new bumper reinforcement online but for some reason they are not offering free shipping on that part and the $50 for shipping plus the $20 handling fee it is coming out to be the same price as if I bought it straight from the dealership and seeing how I live about 5 minutes away from the dealership I am going to pick one up from them.

This will bring my suspension list up to :
  • New Bilstein shocks ($320)
  • New Vogtland springs ($275)
  • New Drag link ($150)
  • New Front lower control arms ($370 for both)
  • New Rear control arm kit ($240)
  • K-Mac front camber/castor kit ($480)
  • MB Arts adjustable camber arms ($325)
  • New Ball joints ($75 for 2)
  • New Rear sway bar links ($25 for 2)
  • New steering damper ($27)
Total = $2,287 (Man what an expensive hobby!!! )

I will post pics of everything once the new parts arrive

I'll probably install new front tires for 2011 on my Benz. It's sucked up enough cash over the last 12 mos.
