Quote: Do you think we should sticky this thread as a "List your mods/where you got them here" section???? There are a lot of great links, mods and info located her.
I was going to create a thread and try to get it stickied regarding mods like you are talking about. I think we should start a new one though as this one already has a bunch of posts and they don't explain where they are getting the mods.

I just finished my tax returns last night and it turns out I am getting back MUCH more than I thought I was. I already told my wife that 1/2 of my tax return is mine to do whatever I want with and I want to throw it at my car. So by the end of February I should have the following done:

1.) Suspension installed
2.) Windows tinted
3.) Avantgarde grill
4.) New bumper clip (the part that attaches to the bumper and slides onto the rails attached to your car, what is this thing called?)
5.) New exhaust (Kleemann headers and either supersprint muffler or eisenmann muffler)
6.) ECU tune from Eurocharged

I should still have some $$$$ left over to play around with and I might do the rotors/brakes but I haven't decided yet. I am going to do dyno runs before and after the ECU tune and exhaust and I will post the results. My tax return should be here in about a week or so

Not trying to brag just SUPER excited

You are a lucky man. Wish the tax man here would be more generous so that I could finance some of my mods

Quote: I think I'm gonna be wrapping a bunch of stuff on the car in 3M carbon. I just did my S2000's centre console and radio door. Check it:

Mr. Saab, your phone cam sucks! i'm just kidding.
I've got carbon fabric and loctite spray glue, and will be doing the wrap soon.
I'm just scared to death that I'll break the crap out of the door panel and dash board.
Do you know how to get that long trim piece off of the dash board??
I wish someone make real carbon trim piece and sell them for like $500-600.
I might ask these guys..

Heh...funny to think how my iPhone cam is 2 megapixel resolution...exact same as the $300 digital camera I got from 10 years ago....

The long piece at the top of the dash is actually pretty easy to remove. I'd suggest you get some plastic pry tools, like these:

http://modifry.com/products/tools/bojo/index.htm

But you can probably get similar stuff locally. It's a lot easier on the interior components than screwdrivers, even screwdrivers wrapped with tape.

But basically, all you need to do to remove that dash piece is to push it to the left, and then it will lift right out. There's some threads discussing it. I think I have the WIS printout somewhere on the interior pieces too.

The trim pieces on the doors need the entire door panel out to remove; the centre console and stereo/HVAC control surrounds basically need all of those components removed too. Not too bad to get apart, but I'd say be careful when taking the window switches off. The plastic retaining hardware crumbled to pieces on me when I removed the switches. I didn't want to shell out $300 for new switches so mine are epoxied in place now.

If the W202 works like the W208, this includes a "how-to" on the dash wood removal without breaking it.

eibach srpings/billy sports
H and R springs (for a 97 c280sport.....apparently H&R doesnt make a direct application for the 97 c36)

the look was killer, but the ride was crap. i have lowered cars before and i expected the ride to be stiffer/harsher, but not like it was. just wasnt really what i was looking for. the roads in seattle are crap too, so there were times were i felt like the performance suffered.

really, really hate the wheel gap, but like the they way the factory set up rides.....not entirely sure what i am gonna do. i wish i could find some OEM euro spec springs (if there are such things).

could have been bad shocks too, not sure but i bought them brand new......

Try Vogtlands and bilstein sports... Or buy some vogtlands and ship them to kowalski to trade for his OEM euro spec srpings

What kind of drop do u get with the vogtlands? I am wondering if the Holstein sports I got were bad or something, the ride really felt strange....almost like there rear had little to no travel at all. How similar or far apart in tersm of the ride are the sports from the factory hd's?

Vogtlands have a 1.4" drop but you can adjust that by using larger spring pads. The sports are pretty close to the HD's they just have a shorter travel to accomodate for lowering springs.

UPDATE:

WOWOWOW TALK ABOUT FAST SHIPPING!!! They tried to deliver me my avantgarde grille today but of course I was at work and my wife wasn't home so I got the little note on my door that says they will try and deliver it tomorrow but of course it's gonna be the same scenario so I am going to call them and see if I can pick it up. If I can get it tonight or tomorrow I will install it and post pics

Again I can't begin to explain how fast the shipping was especially coming from Copenhagen. To give you a good idea I ordered some parts from autohaus the same day and they have yet to arrive, I believe autohaus is in arizona so you would think that package would come first...
