Headliner Removal

Who has removed the headliner before - I can use the help on this one, it's a new task and I of course don't want to damage it while removing. As always, many thanks in advance!

reading about a similar thing on UK forum not long time ago from another c43 owner he waited a lifetime to get a new headliner from MB and they couldn' source one?
So there was an aftermarket ínterior trimshop made one in black alcantara IIRC?
These parts seems to be OOS today, can it be so?

Taking it off was really easy since the car was missing the front seats, but install took about an hour.
First you start by removing the sun shade cover, then usual stuff like interior trim that holds the headliner, sunvisors, oh sh*t handles, mirror, dome and map lights, there are also some screws around the edge of the sunroof accessible from the top with the sunroof open.
The key elements take the old headliner out and to put the new one in without damaging anything are:
- put the front seats all the way up and lower their backs all the way down. If you can't take off the headrests, just remove the rear bottom seat to be able to lower the front seats as low as they can go;
- detach the passenger front door stopper so you can open the pass door at 90 degrees at least;
- move the shifter lever all the way down, from P to 2.
With all these, you will be able to handle the headliner in and out. Help of a friend is a must.
good luck

My headliner is sagging now too. I like the factory material and that is my primary choice for replacement. Has anyone seen an identical or nearly identical material for sale with the foam liner on the back side? Alcantara would be a distant Option B as I would like to keep the headliner original.
StapleGun, did you ever get yours done?
Either that or go the alcantara route without the sponge.
BTW, are other W202 headliners the same fabric/trim as ours? (I have a C43)
