Freshly painted grille

I did it with plasti-dip.
what an awesome product! the hardest part was waiting for it to dry between each coat. looks and feels quality done, sorry the pictures don't do it justice, iPhone, I can get better ones if you guys want.

I also did a wheel to test how that looks, and it looks professional, those pictures will be up tomorrow night.

I would've let the chrome strips go unpainted, in my opinion. Looks nice though. I used Krypton (I think that was what it was) plastic spray paint on my w201 grille. Best $4 I spent.

Tell us more about the Plasti-Dip. Maybe some better pics if you can. I am very curious about it, as it may be more durable than the regular paints available.
How does it match the MB Black?

Plasti-Dip comes in a spray can and you apply it just as you would spray paint, but the great thing about it is, it peels right off if you don't like it. I will post some pictures and maybe a video demonstrating this. it apparently is very durable, rocks just bounce right off, and if it does chip, then just spray some more on no problems.
it is a matte black in color, but it is the same black as my car color, and has a matte texture, and this worried me at first, but I went for it and have no regrets, this stuff is awesome.
I am doing some other things around the car and house with this stuff.

As for the chrome bits, I did try this, but I didn't like it, for some reason it just looked off, so I did the whole thing, I will get some better pictures to show it more accurately.

On a black car, that looks much better than stock, on the cheap to boot. I say nice job, including haven painted the chrome strips. Now you need a flat hood emblem (IMHO).

so will you please tell me what happens when you go to the carwash? like pressure washer wise? I have done a thread about plasti dip but no one else seemed to have used it, local rice forums have done wheels and just about anything you could think of but no one wants to admit what really happens to it after pressure washer lol.

I won't ever take my car to a car wash at like the gas station or somewhere like that.
Meguiars and Microfiber is everything my car deserves!

but even if it didn't stand up and it flaked or chipped, just do a respray, no problem!

$6.50 per can in Cali
I did 3 coats of paint on my one wheel, grille, and then 2 coats on emblems and side mirrors
I'd say get three cans and return the third if you don't use it

hey, sorry but those are my spare set of wheels and they don't have good tires on them, one doesn't even have a tire, I have monoblocks on it now, but will be switching to some brabus vi's

to clean, just spray with water and wipe, don't use any acidic wheel cleaner, it will take that stuff right off, but water and a towel works just fine

Wash it like normal. Plastidip is stronger than you think. Just don't use anything abrasive that can cut, like steel wool, or rough sponges to wash dishes and stuff.

Ive had plastidipped wheels and grille for about two months now, ONE coat on everything. No peeling yet.

Bro Jasssc, where do you buy this plasti-dip spray can here in Cali? Do they also come in different colors or just in matte black?

Any store like home depot will sell black pastidip
Or you could go on amazon and they have all different colors.
As for the matte effect it gives, you could spray a clear coat over the top and it would be glossy. Make sure the plastidip has dried for a full 24 hours before you put the clearcoat on!!

I have purchased a few things recently involving this genre of mods that I will be revealing soon :]

it looked off because the chrome part should be color matched with the car, insert should be flat black. that would look nice specially on a black car.

I think the chrome surround would look good in black too. Btw has anyone seen a silver w202 with a body colored grill?
