Intalled new maf, but cel light still on?
Just installed new MAF in C36 and all is back to normal. How long does it take for cel to go out, heard it can take 20 cycles..?
Thx!

Going to
take several drive cycles or a forced drive cycle x 2
If you erase it you will set all your I/M monitors to not ready and delay a smog test if you need one.
Best to just make sure you have properly seated and clamped the new maf and let the codes clear.

real impatient but the red light does get more irritating as the miles accrue. I have drove it about 60-90 miles so far,
all stop and go w/ about 20-25 key turns. Will take a nice long drive in the rain today to reset my light, maybe.
Thx for the helpful info guys!

Nope forced drive
cycle is the basic MB set drive cycle that meets all the emissions test criteria.
Someone might have it handy or I will dig it up someplace here and post it later.

Repeat
this procedure 2 times.
Drive at 50 mph in D for 3 minutes. A few (2) either way off is fine.
Then stop the car and let idle in park for 5 minutes to self adapt idle and A/F ratio.
Then drive again in D for 3 minutes at 50mph and repeat the idle in park for 5 minutes.
This will usually meet all the needed drive cycle for the maf to adapt.
Have the radio off and the a/c off while adaptation is in progress.
If any consolation driving normally can take weeks at times to meet all the criteria. So your 60-90 miles is nothing. The drive cycles are so convoluted even the dealers have hard times setting them.
