w210 motor mounts

this may be a total newb question but does the year matter when choosing the w210 mounts for a 98 c43?

Why would you use them?

The W202 mounts are relatively cheap - why would you use the W210 mounts, am I missing something?

I think I read somewhere on here that the w210 are better/more durable than the w202? Not sure where but is there any truth to this?

If I am not mistaken I believe this is in reference to the E55 mounts, not just any old W210 mounts as there is a 3.2 and 4.3 that goes in the W210 as well and I can't imagine the 3.2 or the 4.3 mounts are any stouter than the C43's...

bushings from the w210 are better if i'm not mistaken, somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't they solid while the w202's are hollow, or something along those lines?

I think the w210 e class model shares same motor mounts. I dont know why its better than our mounts. I think they both use hydraulic fluid in the mounts. Prices are about the same as well.

eclectic assortment of cars
I posted about this topic in the stickies '55' swap thread. There are different part numbers for the C43 vs the E55 engine mounts. Anecdotal evidence is that they are 'better' whatever that means. I intend to buy a pair of 55 spec mounts for my swap. I do hope that the external dimensions are the same.

I've already installed e55 lamfoerder motor mounts and to tell you the truth... I donno what make these w210 mounts better than c43's motor mounts. I mean I couldn't tell the difference Maybe they last longer with no fluid leak. Its not like urethane motor mounts that you can feel the difference right away. I wish someone makes urethane motormounts+tranny mounts for our cars... sigh....

Simply don't use the hydraulic ones.

If I go to the stealership with an E55 AMG VIN # (chassi number) am I going to get hydraulic rubbers or metal/rubber motor mounts, these cars must have the best engine mounts installed from factory?

Maybe non AMG cars have hydraulic moron mounts?
