Painted calipers
I have decided to paint my stock calipers but I am undecided on what color to paint them. Currently my front calipers are red (painted by the previous owner) but the paint job isn't the greatest. The paint is chipped/chipping and the rears are rusted a bit. The red doesn't look bad but my C43 is pretty blacked out so the red stands out a lot, I am looking for something a little more subtle. I really like the silver with the black AMG logo (like the ones SAAB has) but I am unsure if it would look as good (or even be doable) on the stock C43 calipers. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
P.S.

Silver looks great as well, but if you use OEM brake pads, they're going to turn dark grey pretty fast.

I've got red calipers on black wheels/black car, but i plan on repainting them. They don't look half bad if they're the right type of red, because they match up with the tail lights and such.

I have decided to paint the calipers black and highlight the AMG logo with either white or red, I am leaning towards white. I think this will look good ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I will post pics when I paint them, probably won't be for a bit...

i agree on powder coating.. but wouldnt silver letters match the lip on your wheels better. As I see it you have red from your tail lights or silver from your lip to pull the color palette from. Red is pretty classic though.

I didn't even think about powder coating, I have a friend who has everything needed to powder coat.
I have decided to paint (or powder coat) the calipers black and paint the ////AMG decal on the caliper white. I think it will look pretty clean...

There is not so much to see. But I like it much more than red (I had before painting black). With red or other colours they look dirty very soon ...with black you don't notice much if there is some dirt.

Two things...
1) How did you get Porsche wheels to fit....?
2) Anyone else here have their calipers done up in a brake-dust-coating? Mine are currently done in OEM black brake-dust.... They get a fresh coat every day.

H&R is your friend! They make adaptors to go to 5x112 from 5x100 (some Japanese marques, plus older VW/Audis), 5x120 (BMW) and 5x130 (Porsche). The really bring the offset down though, so you need to find relatively high offset wheels in the original application to make them fit onto the 202.
I second what Popeye says about red calipers. The Stoptechs on my S2000 are red. I clean them, they get dirty, so I leave them. I think I may paint them black when I get around to it. Bit more stealth too.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Another minor point - Stoptech's 'stock' colours for their calipers are red or black. I wanted black, but I bought mine second hand so they were red. Anyway, red or black are standard because the colour doesn't fade when pushed really hard. Their other colours can do fade.

True, keeping red (or other colours except black) coloured calipers can be a pain, but a bit of soap and water on a regular basis will keep them clear. red will also become darker if you use you brakes intensively (tracking) and any white lettering on the caliper becomes ivory coloured. That is one way to see if a car has been really tracked or not

You would think so right but not me
I need to do my brakes as they are going to be toast soon. I still am undecided on a couple things about the caliper project so I am going to wait to paint the calipers until I am completely ready but will do the brakes now. Not to mention the calipers will need some time to dry so I will need to schedule accordingly as currently my C43 is my DD.
