When I hit my panic button my lights flash but not siren. I also do not hear a chirp when I lock/unlock. I think it may be disconnected or faulty. Also, I believe the owner before me had a aftermarket alarm system installed, due to 3 little led red lights that are in the instrument panel. These lights may be stock..idk. Anyways, where is the alarm siren located on the c43?

My "alarm" works the same way that you are describing. I believe it is due to the fact that I have the tow alarm but not the actual alarm with the motion sensor, are you sure you have the motion sensor?

Unless you have the full alarm I do not believe the alarm will sound unless your car is being towed.

your alarm will only go off if you open your trunk when the alarm is activated.

your 4 doors doesn't have any sensors if broken into.

your hood will not sound the alarm if broken into.

your car will sound the alarm if being towed away, lift car and the alarm is blasting.

these stuff above is what happens on my car with tow alarm

I hope I äm right about my previous post!
If not then my alarm is fuuked??

I'm wondering if any of you forum members who ONLY has the stock factory tow alarm, if you can test your cars and report if it's the same procedure as it is on my car???

Check all these parts:
# Sit inside the car and lock with remote. No sounding alarm when all 4 doors opens when alarm is activated?

# No sounding alarm when you pop the hood from inside cabin when alarm is activated?

# Does alarm set off when you unlock the trunk with metal blade key?
OR
If you pop the trunk pull out the pin it kills the trunk light, lock the car with your remote but keep the trunk open, then pull out the pin and then alarm starts blasting!

all this jiberish is muy importante to know what works on your car and what doesn't work!
you have the full setup diebstahlwarnanlage on your C43, I only have the abschleppschutz alarm, both versions might differ in different functions?

You maybe have burglar sensors on the 4 doors and the hood, which I might be missing, whooooo knows?

you can also try these stuff on your car at home.

# sit in the car and pop the trunk, does alarm go on?

# sit in the car, open the doors from inside, does alarm go on?

# sit in the car, alarm is activated, start making heavy metal noise with your keys, does your interior motion sensors go on and sound the alarm?

# unlock your trunk with the metal blade key, does alarm go on?

or

if you open the trunk, pull out the pin (trunklight off) keep the trunk open all the time, now lock the car with your remote, now pull the pin and the alarm is on blasting.

My towalarm starts blasting if the trunk is being molested or my car being towed away, nothing else.
