UPDATE:

Just scheduled the UD pulley kit install for 8/19. While my car is there I am going to have them flush the brake fluid and then refill with Castrol SRF brake fluid.

I am going to try and schedule the dyno the following week and will post results ASAP.

I was planning on having my "stage 1" (UD pulley kit) installed and dyno'd by the end of July but my brake fiasco kind of put a damper on that. I was planning on having my "stage 2" (phenolic spacers) installed and dyno'd by the end of August but since stage 1 has been pushed back so has stage 2. I should have stage 2 installed and dyno'd by mid September at the latest

Hi Jason, Good thinking for the Castrol SRF fluid. Only draw back however is that this specific fluid absorbs humidity fast and needs a good bleed more often than other stuff available. Talking of my racing days, but then we bled the brakes after practice sessions and the race.

Yeah it appears that it will absorb moisture quickly which could lead to corrosion... Anyone have experience with ATE super blue brake fluid?

I do. I rotate between ATE Super Blue and Type 200. They’re the same stuff but one has dye. Both of them have a boiling point that is 122 degrees above DOT 4 specifications. Do you do track days? If so, you may want to consider flushing the system after every other event. That’s where rotating comes in handy. Once you see the fluid in the corner you’re working on change from blue to gold, or gold to blue, you know you’re done on that corner. If you don’t do track days, every other year works in SoCal. Being in the great Northwest, maybe you want to do it once a year.

Here's a little more info on brake fluid. Although I should spice up the page with a photo . . . . .

Great info as usual MarcusF
Interesting to note that Castrol SRF had the highest dry temp rating, but it also has the highest wet rating too. It's true that the price is something you have to factor in considering:
1. You will not use a full can even with a full brake flush and bleed
2. The remaining fluid in the can will go wet faster than other types

There was just too much speculation out there with no real numbers so I figured I would be the guinea pig and post everything for you guys and hit the dyno after each MOND () so we could have some real numbers to compare.

Evosport is claiming 8+ RWHP gain so we will see. The one thing I am excited about is other people who have installed this kit have said that they REV quicker which will make me happy as the 43 motor isn't that lively below 3000 RPM so the quicker I can get into that REV range the happier I will be.

I will get my car back the 19th and I am trying to get on the dyno within a week of getting my car back, hopefully we will see that 8+ RWHP gain with the quicker REVs

next up:
Evosport Phenolic spacers

Hey, so while brakes are relatively fresh in this thread, maybe someone can pop out a genius answer for me:

Attempting to change the hoses to ss, I stripped the nut on the top part of the old line, where it sits in the holder on the inner fender. So there is the line that comes through the fender and connects to the flexible lower brake line. This nut is part of the upper line. Any help on how to get it off and the new lower line on? Am I best off just getting a new solid upper line from mb and replacing it at the master cylinder, or would this be a headache trying to get it through the hole in the fender?

you have a problem... Unfortunately I don't have a clear cut answer, but getting a new pipe could be the only solution. Lets see if someone chimes in with a better idea

Alas my upgrading projects have been pushed back I have rescheduled the pulley install for 9/12. I will be ordering the phenolic spacers in a couple weeks, I will keep everyone updated on the results.

UPDATE:

Just got through talking with the shop that will be doing my UD pulley kit install. I was scheduled for 9/19 but just got bumped up to 9/1

I have decided to go with ATE super blue brake fluid due to the hygroscopic nature of the Castrol SRF and have already ordered 1L, It should be delivered on 8/30. I am having the shop do the flush and bleed at the same time as the UD pulley kit install.

UPDATE:

As usual nothing ever goes as planned and I will not be getting my car until tomorrow I guess they are having trouble with some "stubborn fasteners" whatever that means

UPDATE:

Just received my C43 with the Evosport pulley kit installed as well as a fresh brake fluid flush and fill with the ATE Super blue racing fluid.

Now for the review:
Just got back from a 30 minute drive and have nothing but good things to say. My brakes feel much more solid (my old fluid must of definitely been in need of change) and there is a noticeable difference after the pulley kit has been installed. My butt dyno is telling me there is definitely more oomph but we will let the actual dyno be the judge of that. One thing is for sure, it REVS noticeably quicker. There is no doubt about it, the pulley kit definitely is an improvement on performance as far as getting into the meat of the power band.

I am scheduling another dyno appointment to determine what the gains were (if any) and I will post results ASAP.

True, I find the bog standard C43 revs to slow and don't like to rev it with other people around, it sounds crappy.

UPDATE:

I have my 2nd dyno run scheduled for the 16th @ 4:30pm.

We will have hard data whether or not there are any HP/TQ gains with the Evosport UD pulley kit

Evosport is claiming 8+ RWHP
