As for extending the o2's I was having intermittent CEL's after extending them. I sent the ECU to Kleemann and Cory turned them off permanently. He was kind enough to do this for just the cost of shipping. I've since passed emissions testing with no issues.

Was the swain coating worth it in your opinion?

I emailed Jerry @ Eurocharged to see if they would be able to program the ECU to turn the CEL off with their tune, I am awaiting a reply.

The swain coating is pretty good at cutting down on the heat. I haven't tried it but I'm almost convinced you could touch the headers after running it pretty hard. I've put my hands pretty close to them and while you can feel heat coming off of them its nowhere near as hot as before. I don't really know what the true dollar value should be of having a cooler engine compartment or how much HP the coating may or not gain but I'm happy with it.

Swain coating is good, and Zircotec as well, its depend of your desire, if the reason is only for heat prevent, good & tight wrapping well

do the job without waiting that loong time,, but if you want to colour it for cosmetic things, then must wait for sending & receiving......

ZAYED,,
I had a Eurocharged dyno tune on my W208, and have a Kleemann tune on my W209. I really dont think you can go wrong either way.

I just wish Eurocharged was still in the Chicagoland Area. Would def get a retune from them after I add a few goodies to my W209.

What kind of tune before dyno..?, is it only the ECU..??, do you think both are brilliant with ECU tune....???

I didn't have a huge seat of the pants increase with my 93octane W208 tune, but mind you this was awhile ago and I believe the are able to achieve more hp now?

One thing that was noticeable was how much smoother the power delivery was.

Jerry has probably tuned more AMGs they I have set eyes on. He is definitely brilliant with tuning.

Also, have heard nothing but good things about Klemann. (I am unaware who actually does the tuning for Kleemann though.

UPDATE:
I have yet to schedule my post phenolic spacer install dyno . I am concerned about the differences in temperature and humidity affecting the numbers as I did the first 2 runs in summer and it was around 80° and 11% humidity. Now that it is fall it is EASILY 30° cooler as well as more humid due to the rain. I am concerned that the numbers would be skewed and therefore have no real value, not that the numbers really mean much to me but they are one of the only ways I have to track gains (or losses) and I want the scenario to be as close as possible to the baseline dyno. What do you guys think???

On another note:
Eurocharged offers a tune for our C43's claiming 25 hp increase. I am planning on getting the tune but wanted to wait for my power mods (headers, cats, x pipe, air box) to take full advantage of the tune. I just found out that Eurocharged offers free reflashes. You can get tuned now and add a mod and get retuned FOR FREE!!! I wish I knew about this earlier as this would have been my first mod. Unfortunately I am taking my Kleemann headers in to be modified tomorrow and then sent out for swain coating so funds are a little tight right now but I plan on getting the tune SOON.

I might just pick it up in a couple weeks

I just thought about it and now this would add at least 3 more dynos as I would want to follow the schedule listed below:

This would allow us to see the gain for the following combos:

1.) Baseline (COMPLETE)

2.) Evosport UD pulley kit (COMPLETE)

3.) Evosport UD pulley kit + Phenolic spacers

4.) Evosport UD pulley kit + Phenolic spacers + Eurocharged tune

5.) Evosport UD pulley kit + Phenolic spacers + Eurocharged tune + Kleeman headers (tuned before the Kleemann headers to see what gains headers offer without tune)

6.) Evosport UD pulley kit + Phenolic spacers + Kleeman headers + Eurocharged tune (tuned after the Kleemann headers to see what gains headers offer after tune)

7.) Evosport UD pulley kit + Phenolic spacers + Kleeman headers + Eurocharged tune + Renntech CF air box (tuned before air box to see what gains air box offer before tune)

8.) Evosport UD pulley kit + Phenolic spacers + Kleeman headers + Renntech CF air box + Eurocharged tune (tuned after air box to see what gains air box offer after tune)

This is going to be my plan

UPDATE:

Just picked my headers up from the exhaust shop. It took a little longer than expected as Kleemann wasn't exactly accurate with the description of the modifications that needed to be done to get the headers to fit.

here is the description I received from Cory@Kleemann:

"The driver side header is 2 pieces due to the recirculating ball steering system, and it uses a crossover tube which attaches the two header pieces to the down pipe on the passenger side. One of the header pieces where it connects to the crossover is too short. Other than that, everything else fits nicely."

Both pieces were short by about 1.5", one of the pieces was oriented incorrectly and was unable to bolt up as the piece was running directly into the steering box. A small section of pipe needed to be cut and rotated to get it to fit. Everything said and done it took about 9 hours to modify the headers as we had to bolt them up and tack weld the pieces then take them back off and finish the welds. Total cost (headers + modification) was about 2/3 the cost of the "normal" Kleemann headers so I did save money but it was DEFINITELY a headache.

I am dealing with swain right now trying to get a date set to have them coated.

Talking with my exhaust guy I believe I will not go with the X pipe but rather more inline with what Project C55 did. Dual mufflers on the C43 is more trouble than it's worth as you would need to seriously modify the spare wheel well and tow hook. So I will be going with headers to cats to Y pipe to AMG muffler.

UPDATE:

I have contacted SwainTech and will be sending my Kleemann headers out for coating after the holidays. The coating process takes about 3 weeks so I won't be installing my exhaust any time soon

I figure I will run another baseline dyno the day before the exhaust install and then one after to capture the gains. I believe this would be more accurate then comparing the after dyno to my summer base line dyno.

I have purchased the Eurocharged ECU tune but have yet to install it as I am trying to coordinate a dyno, tune, and dyno on the same day so we can capture the gains.

I have sent my headers for swain coating but they won't be back for a couple weeks.

My crazy MOD addiction will continue towards the end of the month

Much more VICIOUS and raspy I LOVE IT!! It does drone a tad around 2500 rpm on the free way but it isn't that bad at all

I felt a tiny bit more oomph but they may have been a placebo...

Headers to cats to AMG muffler with extended o2 sensors.

Not sure I want to give up that sound the AMG muffler produces

Can't wait to hear about your s#!t-eating grin lol. Just an FYI, Eurocharged did try to turn off my CEL after the custom dyno tune but it did come back...I'm going to try the O2 sensor spacers, I'll let you know how it goes. Waiting is agony, isn't it?

BEYOND!!! I am ordering the remote tuning cable from Eurocharged today. I was planning on extending my o2 sensors when I installed the kleemann headers as I recall Eurocharged said they wouldn't be able to remove the CEL for me.

Once I receive the cable it is going to be dyno, tune, dyno to capture the gains

UPDATE:

Look what arrived today in the mail:

This is the OBDII cable from Eurocharged, this cable is used for the remote tune. I am still in the midst of scheduling the dyno so I can remote tune. Jerry said the tune will take an hour (30 minutes to take the stock tune and 30 minutes to reflash) so I am second guessing the back to back dyno as it will cost me another $100 to tie up the dyno for an extra hour. I may just say *UCK it and do it anyway

I will keep you guys posted on the results.

Good, but where are you going to connect the OBDII plug?
