A better crank position sensor CPS

From LantanaTX and tighed1 on the Crossfireforum.org board.

Since we know the factory ones will fail, I was glad to see this one is different and with the guarantee, I won't ever have to pay for another. I had recently also put one of these in the E500 I recently bought.

Believe it or not, the quality of Bosch parts has dropped of greatly in the past five years...

...and the problem with that is Mercedes thinks Bosch is the only parts manufacturer in the world.

I imagine that MB also has a nice piece of Bosch shares stacked away in the vault

In the USA we call it a vendor relationship. In Germany, it's a business partner.

I recently changed the CPS on my ML430.. had to take the driver wheel off and liner and go in from the side. Considering how packed the engine bay is on the w202.. how tight of a job is it? Whats the best angle of attacK?

Actually an easy one - the CPS is aft of the driver's side cylinder bank, I believe it's an E7 bit (e-torx) replaced mine a while ago.

Yeah once you could actually reach it - it was easy to change on the ml.. It was getting to it that was tricky. You either had to work blind from the top or go in from the side. I'm imagining it is exactly the same procedure wise since its the same basic engine. I'm about to change plugs and wires, maybe I should change the CPS on my c43 too just for prevention. I'm at 103k miles. It will fail sometime in the next 30k miles I'm sure.
