Well, I finally got rid of the annoying squeak I had coming from my rear seat. As many had suggested to me, it was from the latching mechanism for the folding rear seat. So, I sprayed some WD40 in there, and tada, no more sqeaks. If you decide to do this also, just be sure to put a rag under the receptacle before spraying so that WD doesn't drip on your trunk liner.

Liquid Wrench sells a spray Dry Lube that should do the trick without the mess. (I've been sold on Remington's Teflon based Dry Lube for my Concealed Carry firearms for years, and was thrilled when Liquid Wrench came out with the big spray cans for auto needs not long ago.)

And don't feel bad about the delay. I just reconnected my C43 seat air hoses last month - after wondering what the side bolsters and lumber supports would be like for about 4 years.

here's a pic i got from google images. i think it's from a w203, but you'll get the basic idea; look where the arrow is pointing ... aim your WD there and spray the hell out of it.

Not too much, not unless you get high on the smell and enjoy cleaning stains when the excess leaks out and drips everywhere
I prefer a touch of silicone grease....

agreed. my annoyance at the squeak caused me to be a bit overzealous with the WD ...

Finally after 2+ years I am going to see if this eliminates the creaking noise. I sprayed the hinge with CLP and put some white lithium grease on the latch. Hopefully this will eliminate the creak, I am going to go for a drive tonight and see if it worked.

Worked like a charm and took me all of 3 minutes. I should have done this a while ago
