Question How often does these arms go bad?

do I buy single bushing and press it out or is it better to buy complete rear axle bottom arms when they go bad?
I guess a lazy mechanic on his job at the shop would say it's better to swap complete arm.

what should I do, swap bushings or buy complete new arms

Hard to say, remember I replaced pretty much my entire suspension so saying which part made an improvement is pretty much impossible.

with all new parts you did notice your car having better performance handling around corners and in high speed straightline driving or was it like a placebo effect?

w202 chassi is a bit sensitive to wind

Handling improved exponentially! It was like night and day. As far as W202 being sensitive to wind, I have never had that problem.

i had this prob with wrong alignment when i did the swap from 17 to 18 inch rims, never did an alignment, when i drove on a bridge and it was blowing hard my car wasn't having any stability.
now i guess it's a different story with new rubbers and a fresh 4 wheel align which i did last year.

Those bushes almost never wear out. The rose joint on the other end of the arm (actually in the wheel carrier) does wear out and is an easy replacement and the torque arm wears out too (just replace the whole arm).

They are still an easy bush to replace, replacing the arm isn't expensive and is a good option for a home mechanic rather then pressing the bush out.

Open your eyes Denis See how bushing number 8 has a line going to it showing where it installs. The line leads up to the rose joint, this is where bushing #8 installs on the rose joint.

I believe I changed out the entire arm due to the cost of the bushing and getting it pressed (or buying a press) was around the same $$$ if not more expensive than buying the entire arm new and installing it.

you didn't buy new rosejoints?
i guess they are very expensive?

i might go for new complete arms i linked in the first thread and not having to hassle with pressing tools.
remove and replace with new parts goes faster.
