Even if he got a beat up car at least its in good hands now! If your car needs all that you can also check the fan clutch, TPS, CPS, and valve cover gaskets.

Looks like $5k+ in parts and labor, she should drive like brand new after all that though

eclectic assortment of cars
I'd also do the breather hoses (on the valve covers). If you're gonna go through all that work, might as well get all new hoses too.

The car doesn't use McPherson struts, so there isn't really a top hat with a bearing in it to replace. So the only bits to change there would be the rubber bushings on the shocks - but if you are getting new shocks, they will come with those bushings.

If you have A/C which I suppose you do, get that checked also. The compressor and other parts do wear out or leak and it can be costly to repair properly.
On a side note, why on earth are you doing ALL those updates and changes. Are they really necessary?

where do you want to stop? how many miles has it done?

Replacing springs, why not replace sway bars, they're springs too, both pointless

why not pull the engine replace all the bearings and rings?

Power steering pump?

Who's doing the work, the Classic Center? Unless you're doing it yourself, Who would you trust to do all that?

friend who owns a shop in brooklyn and works on many german and japanese (porsche, bmw, nissan gtr) is doing the work for me. he himself has an m5 highly modified with a supercharger, a c63, range rover. i see numerous GTR and porsche in his shop as well.

what is a TPS and CPS? crank position sensor? already done.

car is a 1999 with 134k miles on it. i dont ever plan on selling this car. i love this car so much.

why am i doing it? because i highly believe in good maintenance which means good preventative maintenance. i would replace the springs in case of sagging. sway bars i wouldnt bc would they really bend? however i am changing the bushings on that car.

the ac works GREAT! however i dont think it needs replacing just yet. it isnt broken but when it does break ill change. all the other stuff is driving related and want to keep the car in top shape.

the car is def not beat up at all but im not the type to wait until something breaks to fix. the idle pulley was an anomoly and i thought the belts were changed by the previous owner.

do you guys think i am going too far? isnt this all reg maint work that needs to be replaced over time with wear and tear?

you're like me like fixing and keeping the car into top shape.
I have also bought some parts before they even broke down, which didn't had to be changed, but I did it anyway just for being sure they are up to date on my car.

Parts changed:
Harmonic balancer
o2 sensors
CPS
Upper/lower front control arm bushings
Belt tensioner
Belt
Front axle steering parts

Not changed yet, only when they go bad:
Belt idler pulley
Condensator

You'll have your own partsdepartment in your garage.

I say go for it, I did the same thing and replaced a bunch of stuff that probably didn't need to be replaced but now it feels like I am driving a NEW C43 (perhaps better than new) and I have piece of mind.
