I did a search on this forum and found a DIY for valve covers and other things Not a c43 but similar engine except S/C. Valve covers are the same. It is a simple job but takes some time and you need to be very clean and installation needs for torque wrench and specs.

You may find some more info too

Mine were leaking a tiny bit the dealership resealed them while I was having a "B" service completed and I haven't had a problem since

if you drive your car for short trips and your engine never gets correct working temperature, oil sludge will eventually built up in the engine.
Have a long loop run everytime you drive your car b4 you turn it off getting to work.
This means you have to leave home earlier to enjoy the loop.
I drive my car for approx 20 Km before I turn it off first time during the day.
I hope I don't get any sludge with this driving.
SAAB cars had lots of problems with oil sludge, SAAB autoshops had to change many engines on extended warranties

Heya Denis, I think the replies concerning sludge was not a worry of sludge build up IN the engine, but muck deposited due to oil leaks under the engine on the sump guard plastic tray

sorry guys not familiar with these engines much...so it seems the oil is coming more from the drivers side than passengers side. could valve cover gasket still be the issue? or do you think maybe timing cover seal? how would i know exactly? I'm going to degrease the engine, change the oil since i need one anyways and then see where its coming from after its dry?

The C43 has a V8. It has two valve cover gaskets - one on the passenger side and one on the driver's side. Either side, or both may be leaking. It could also be leaking from the oil cooler, which is common. In any case, you will have to visually inspect the engine to find the source of the oil leak.
