Arrow #1 Spring pads (front) + Vogtland springs = Rub?

I'm currently rolling on 18" AMG Monoblocks II's (18x8+35/18x9+31) w/ 225/255 tires on my C43. I'm planning on lowering it on Vogtland springs, but aren't sure if I should change to smaller spring pads. I want the car as low as possible, without any rubbing issues, and (if possible) without having to roll the fenders.

I think the rear will be low enough, so I was planning on keeping the factory size pads back there. But, I was thinking of going lower in the front by using #1 (5mm) pads. Would I have any problems with this setup? Or should I just keep all my original pads when lowering it with the Vogtlands?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Pretty sure your C43 has #1 pads from the factory, mine did as well as other members on here.

I am running Vogtland springs with the largest spring pads (#5 in front and #4 in rear) with no rubbing. Pretty sure if I was on a #1 in front I would rub over bumps.

Look at my sig pic, I am low but not slammed

I was on #1 pads front and rear with Euro suspension as my 43 is in Europe

I didn't realize the factory front pads were #1's already. The car sits unusually high on factory springs.

Yeah, the U.S. C43's ride high. After I installed new rims and tires my C43 looked like it was ready to go off roading until I lowered it.

I don't believe mine did, I think they were #2 or 3s. I will be running this setup in about a week or two, but I am using the old style W201 spring pads, and I think the #1 on those is thicker than the #1 on the newer, C43 spec W210 pads

You are right, I just double checked my stock spring pads and they were #2. I guess Euro spec C43's came with #1 and US came with #2. Either way there is only 4mm difference which isn't going to produce a significant drop.

I am unsure if the W201 spring pads are a different size than the W210 spring pads.

I was running Vogtlands paired with Koni's and #1 pads all around on my former '99 C230 with 18" Mono's. My car dropped more than 2.5" all around and I had to take my 18's off the front as I had a pinky finger space between the tire and fender. The driver's side fender was literally resting on the tire. I would definitely recommend #4's all around. I was under the impression that #5 pads were only available for the back coils, not the front. Hope this helps.

Cheers

Can you post pics of your car as I am considering the same setup but may opt for the Euro springs with #1's all around. Detailed pics of the front/back wheel clearance would be greatly appreciated. Every car sits differently but it will give me an approximate drop.

Cheers

North American C43's came with stock #2 pads all around but I've heard some claim to have had #1's from factory. It proves the theory that every car will settle differently.

Other way around, #5 is the biggest in the front and #4 are the biggest in the rear.

Don't forget that with the options fitted on the vehicle, the factory will have fitted different sized pads front and rear. Just a reminder, mine was on #1 pads front and rear, but then I had Euro suspension

Good to know as I will definitely go with #5's for the front and #4's in the rear.

That's what I am running and couldn't be happier with the stance. I was concerned that #5 in the front and #4 in the rear would give me a level stance, I was more concerned that the rear would be lower than the front but that is not the case. I have a slight rake with the front a tad lower than the rear which is perfect in my opinion.
