It took me about an hour of wiggling the key in the trunk on mine to get it to work. Keep at it and it'll finally go. Gotta get it to turn and then push in.

Get plenty of WD40 in the lock slot to free up the rust...

Try and get the hood open and you can plug electricity to the electric pole under a plastic cover front of the fuse box. It will open the back end

Are you sure you can't get the engine hood open? That will be the safest way to plug some juice into the circuit (see my post further up). Otherwise, can't you get a "specialist" to open a door with a thin blade of wire to the door latch?

Yes, positive (red) cable on the post (be careful not to touch anywhere else...) and a ground somewhere on the chassis. That will get some juice in the circuit and enable you to pop the trunk switch.

Nothing happening...maybe I'll leave it for a bit. If it still fails, I'll try and trickle charge it.

Thumbs up Update...It worked like a charm..

Thank you sir! Now I can jump start the C, and bring it into the garage. C was probably pissed that it's been outside for a week.

For my car, you can open the driver side door using the key... there's a cover that covered up the key hold at the usual place.

That's the correct way if you have the key handy....

That remind me another story

I have a BMW E34 which the door lock is powered by battery and the battery/hood switch is located inside the cabin... the only "door" you can unlock with you key is the trunk, what can you do?

DRBC43AMG , Thank you .

Yes, this is the way my question should have been stated , how to open the hood if power key is not openning the door ? Does the manual key open the door or does it open the trunk only ?

The key will open the door for sure! I tried once. It failed to open the trunk...maybe it wasnt opened by key for over 10yrs.

Here are my suggestions
1) You can buy a cigrette plug charge that should give enough power to open the trunk
2) For my E34, there is no way I can open the door and therefore I bought a 12V battery, two tiny wire and use the rear light blub socket to provide little battery just to operate the electric door lock

I guess W202 is a lot easier as you can open the door with your key, hence open the hood and you are good to go
