Want to rebuild control arms front and rear had some questions!
Hi everyone I want to rebuild my suspension. Im thinking of buying new control arms for the front and rear. I just had some concerns. If im installing new lower control arms for the front do I have to change the upper control arm too? And same for the rear it has the lower control arm then upper rear control arm. Do you guys recommended doing the top arms too? Also for the rear theres a rear support arm I already bought. Then theres a rear tie rode links? Also theres sway bar links are those recommended to change too? I just want to refresh the suspension but want to keep it simple. I already changed the front tie rode.

Front
LCA has the large bushing which goes bad, if you have polybushing you can replace the bad one with poly bush then you're ok with LCA.
If you buy complete LCA go for Lemförder or MB oem part and nothing else.
UCA is not necessary to change these bushings seldom goes bad.
Rear
Buy new rod arms there's 6 of them on each side IIRC?
Frame has 2 bushings in the front and 2 bushings in rear + 2 oval diff bushings.
Hubs have 1 bushing each.
You should get adjustable camber arms if you lower your car.
change transmount bushing if your rear axle gives you clunking sound.
I've so far only done my front suspension, with all arms and bushings, tie rod ends, balljoints, stabilizer bushings replaced, only thing left is shox and lowering springs.
The rest of the parts for rear axle I've already bought and have them collecting dust until I buy complete set of shox then I will do the rear suspension.
14 years of old suspension gives me a sloppy performance ride, I don't like it.
I'm waiting for this day to come when I have the rear suspension tighten.
it will cost you a lot to get all the parts at once, I bought my stuff + Vogtland springs from time to time and now I almost have everything besides my desired Koni's
Changing all rubber will give ya synergi with all suspension renewed.

Here's a pic of a w124 rear axle it's almost the same for w202, it's got 6 suspension arms on each side + a certain amount of bushings

Thank you for all the info Kowalski. I already did my shocks and springs. I have the rear camber kit, the Mb arts one. I chose to to the rear first because its cheaper for me. I bougth a rebuild kit for the control arms but then realized its a pain in the butt to take the bushings out. I need special tools that I don't have so to save me the hassale I will just buy new control arms and etc.... I Will do the front control arms later. The only thing I did to the front was change the tie rode and steering damper. I cant wait to have the car freshened up so I can rape it and not worry about breaking something hahaaha

Just to double check that I have everything for the rear. I already have the rear support arms and camber kit. I also need the rear tie rode links and sway bar links? heres where im buying the links and sway links http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...SUSSHK_pg1.htm

I would just replace the bushings in the front lower control arms. I just did this last weekend on my car. I work at a MB dealer so I get a little price break, but the bushing kits were only $55 each which is front and rear bushings for each lower arm, so $110 for the whole car.. I'm sure that is cheaper than new control arms. Bit more labor though..
My car only has 74k, but the bushings were SHOT.
