guys what do i do!?

guys what do i do!?
i plastidipped my grille insert white and they look great, i put them back on my car so i dont look like a bum and made a quick trip for more black paint for the bezel... in my rush to put the grill back i forgot to put the pull latch back in the right position 
... now i can pop the hood from inside and it lifts... but the latch is stuck upward and i cant manage to figure out how to pull it up or out to unlatch my hood... any suggestions? im sure at least one person here slipped up and installed there grille and didnt think about the tab till to late? this white just looks to gangsta without some blck conrast.. please help lol

No im sorry i didnt explain it well... the latch is actually pointed up behind the grille and basically sitting on the top divider/fin in the grille behind the chrome bezel... it should be two slots down? Does that seem understandable? If u see where your latch normally pops out at... its actually stuck 2 levels up and slanted up instead of down :/

If you get a coat hanger and bend it in a pretty tight "U" shape, you should be able to hook the latch arm where the normal handle grabs it and pull it forward to release the safety latch. Get a flashlight and a hanger and it should be pretty straightforward
