"T Rex" failed the test...

Every two years vehicles on the road here have to undergo an official technical inspection. After a thorough wash of the chassis, a steam clean of the engine bay and a service, the vehicle is presented to the test centre.
Everything which is safety related is obviously inspected and if anything is not normal, or you have non homologated aftermarket goodies, the result of the test is FAIL. You then have to get the vehicle repaired and retested to remain "roadworthy".
The KW suspension was inspected and deemed OK, same as the SS Goodrich brake pipes. I have official homologation documents for these items. My drilled OE rotors and EBC Yellows on the front passed unnoticed
However, when one of the technicians was looking closely under the vehicle, he said to his colleague "hmmm, looks like the exhaust resonator has disappeared...". I thought that they would not see the modified exhaust, but they did.Next step? I have to reinstall the standard exhaust, get it tested again (just for the exhaust thankfully) and when I have the official stamp on the vehicle's documentation and everything is fine, I can remove the standard exhaust and get the "V8 sound machine" back on. Oh I nearly forgot, the 18" monos are not homologated for the w202, so I switched back to my 17" before the test, so those will get exchanged back to 18"'s also.

how much did the test cost?
did you drive your car properly to get the cats warm?
driving your car 30min - 1hr to get it fully warmed b4 the test is a must to get good fume ratings!
2 front cats should do fine on your car as the rears are only passive.
every 2 years you have to switch back n forth when doing the test is a PITA as it cost money if you don't switch pipes your self!

i need to know how many flanges there are total on our stock auspuff?
also how many flanges are needed to buy extra if removing centre silencer and rear cats?
do you know any good sites selling SS flanges for our cars?
how many 60mm flanges are needed and how many 70mm needed?

But if you still think I'm in the wrong send me a private message as our conversation has nothing to do with the OP's thread.

While he was lecturing me about how deadly and dangerous my 30 year old, 70hp diesel with a hole in the muffler was a danger to everyone on the road, several rednecks in giant trucks with LOUD exhaust drove by, so loud that he had to pause and wait for them to pass. Funny, he didn't go chase them down and write them tickets when they were easily double the volume of my w123 (which I was ON MY WAY to get fixed!)
I don't respond to overbearing authority very well.
