Found this video of a drag race between a C63 and C43. Our older w202's are not bad considering the difference in hp. I wonder what a C43 with a 55 swap would do...

2000 (W202 C200) & 2000 (W202 C55)
Tried with many "C/E/SL/CLS63", from 0 to around 160km, they can’t catch me, but after that they slowly comes and see my tail...,,

hope someone here saw me once....

i asked many 63s guys to take some videos, but they refused, especially here, guys don’t want to accept goldy oldies can beat sissy moderns,

a Stock C63 vs a swapped C43, the C63 should still eek out the win. The HP per lbs in a stock C63 is better, the TQ per lbs is REAL close.

The .01 drag coefficient advantage the W202 has over the W204 isn't enough to overcome the HP/lbs advantage the W204 has. It would be neck and neck for a minute though

I can't speak for a modded n/a 55, but stock it would not be close. Driven many c63's and they are considerably faster. They also have a much better 7 speed trans that works great with that engine. That n/a 63 motor is something else. The 55 motor is nice though because there is alot of raw grunt down low. In every day driving they are just great, torque all the time at just a hint of pushing down the gas pedal. Passing people on the highway does not need any downshifts and you can get to 100+ effortlessly.

I do think some exhaust would really help the 55 motor in this chassis, I think the higher rpm could pull more but it's likely being choked down. Headers and no cats would do wonders I'm sure. My exhaust is 100% stock.

I did not try. I pretty much got there and backed off, on a 2 lane highway, had to slow down for things ahead in the road. Wind noise in that car picks up drastically around 140 it seems.. still feels solid though. I was in Canada eh.
