Wheel opinion needed..
My 43 has been lowered for about a year now and I been forever fighting wheel choice/sizes.Its lowered on voghts 5 fr 4 rear running stock monos.I really want to stay lightweight...pocket as well as wheels lol. What you guys think about 17's...17x8 fr 17x 9 rear? Has anyone ran similar size? There are so many more light wheel choices in the 17'' range. What wheel widths do you suggest? My main goal is a nice light wheel which will keep me lighter as well as having superior rolling resistance.Im experimenting here...

Not sure how the price will change, but finding 18s that are lighter than the 17" monos shouldn't be very hard... imo 17 is just too much tire for a street look. For racing/autox etc. yeah 17" or if possible with brake clearance, 16" all the way, but for looks I'd say 18 all the way. Even with my E55 monos I still wish the tires were still a touch lower profile. I'd start by checking out reps. Great prices and good choices on sizes, and you may get lucky with the weight.

What sort of coin are you looking to spend?...when you say "stay lite wieght" are you referring to your stock mono's being light? you could shave 18-20Kg's off those with LW 17".
I have 17x8 et35 225/40, 17x9 ET35 255/35 ,it's a really nice fitment, however the barrel is too close to my stoptech caliper and stones get jammed, but its fine on the C43 brakes.
To fix this I'm looking at LW 18's also and hope gain a better look ...however they will be slightly heavier than I have currently with 17Kg front 17.4kg rear, there is not many LWW around in 18x8 et35 18x9 et30 - 35 that look good on the 202 imo, to improve your selection you could use wobble bolts for 5x114.3 like I use, just make sure you have good hub centric location.
If you want cheap LWW 18x8 18x9 its hard to look past companies like Enkie who do produce extremely lite good quality wheels(18-19lbs F/R). though in saying this I'm looking to run BBS RGR's but I think they have discontinued there mercedes fitments so 5x114.3 8.5/9.5 et36/38 with wobble bolts might be the only way.
RGR's
But secretly going to run these^^....

They are photochopped =), they look close to 18"! , the RGR I have pictured is an 8.5,the 8 doesn't have quite so much lip on the front.
Price wise about 3000USD for the RGR, and about 10000USD for the RE-mg lol,but you cant get REmg them from BBS USA, has to come from the japan dealer.
Also RGR have very little room for BBK's but should fit the C43 easy, I'm waiting to hear back from BBS japan on the fitment with a 332mm stoptech kit.
Edit: I've had a lot of wheels over the years and recently stumbled on a very tidy set of 15x6.5 BBS RG-F for my DD diesel wagon, I cleaned them up and was totally impressed by the quality of every aspect of the wheel including the machined hub centic rings BBS use(called PFS), they also weighed in at 4.5kg which is a 1Kg lighter than my same spec LW Weds sport TC05!!. BBS ftw.

Just to tidy up the BBS info for future readers:
BBS do not advertise this anywhere, but RGR's RG705H and RG706H are able to be manufactured 8-10 weeks. and specs are 18x8 ET35 5x112 18x9 ET30 5x112. Dust cap clearance on the front is marginal, BBS said 32mm to bottom of plastic fingers on cap, so that means there is appox 40mm gap, and our dust caps are around 42-43mm, I've found you can remove 2mm from the dust cap base and refit without issue, you can also mill some of the BBS cap and repaint. so these can be made to fit in near perfect W202 18" specs. RG705H does not clear the stoptech C43 332mm kit by 8mm, so these are a no go for me. However,I am pretty certain they will clear stock C43 brakes.
As for the RE-Mg,not quite the best fitment 18x8.5 et36 and 18x9.5et 38 5x114.3 but they clear the stoptch kit by 1.5mm!.
However Good luck getting those out of japan they hold them very tightly to the JDM market ,it is company policy not to ship abroad I think due to the corrosion issue, they actually give you a touch up pen and you register the wheels with BBS,so if that doesn't hold you back the price will. I'm still trying to get them^^.

Looks like they ran BBS "DTM" or "RG-Mg" on the 202 at some stage during the DTM,looks like center lock RE-Mg though due to the newer style lip.
