where to buy euro AMG spring?

Hi all,
I bought a 98 C43 AMG over the weekend. I am looking to refresh the suspension. My local Mercedes dealer is not able to order the springs. Where can I order them? I would like to go with euro springs, and Bilstein sport shocks. What pad #s are recommended with 18" mono block wheels.

Thanks.
Dave

go to another stealership if your local dealer is incompetent getting you those springs

with thinnest pads #1 pads 5mm thick you'll have a 2 finger gap with stock shox and euro style springs

or you can go for koni's and vogtland, this setup is da bomb with #1 front and #4 pds rear!
gives you 1 finger gap front and rear, did mine recently, gives you a gocart performance

US Mercedes-Benz dealers cannot order many European spec parts. In the case of springs, I know the part numbers for the European spec CLK55 springs. The rears are available as they appear in the parts database as valid part numbers for a different US spec model car. However, the part numbers for the Euro-spec CLK55 front springs do not appear in the US database. If the part numbers for the European spec C43 springs do not appear in the US database (and you will have to know the part numbers - simply telling the parts clerk "I want the Euro spec C43 springs" will not work), one way to get them is to have someone overseas order a set and ship them to you. IE put Kowalski to work. Another way is to contact the Classic Center in Irvine, tell them the part numbers you want, and they will order them.

IIRC they are w210 parts, so you should be able to order them with those part numbers. unless, of course, for some reason they are discontinued.

First of all, the pads on both front and back are the thinnest available with MB = 1 nib.

Front
Spring:
- Black colored with 1 yellow stripe and 3 white stripes painted on the exterior side of a coil (middle of the spring)
- Length overall: 345mm
- Diameter of coil: 16mm
- ID#: N 210 321 2204 HH1 (and a small MB star emblem at the end)

Shock:
- Black colored with Bilstein label at the bottom end
- AMG engraved bellow the Bilstein label (justifying AMG price )
- 2 ID#
1) A 202 323 4100
2) 9 8329 1848T001 (Bilstein internal reference #?)

Rear
Spring:
- Black colored with 3 blue stripes painted on the exterior side of a coil (middle of the spring)
- Length overall: 320mm
- Diameter of coil: 14mm
- ID#: W2 210 324 3404 HH1 (and a small MB star emblem at the end)

Shock:
- Black colored with Bilstein label at the bottom end
- AMG engraved bellow the Bilstein label (justifying AMG price )
- 2 ID#
1) A 202 326 3000
2) 98252 1849T 001 (Bilstein internal reference #?)

So that's what I managed to see and check from the parts which came from the 43. I'll have a browse around on the MB spare parts site (EPC) and see what comes up with the different #s. It is interesting to see springs with a 210 at the beginning and not 202. Did they raid the W210 series parts bin?

The good news is that you should be able to order both pairs from any US dealer.

Thanks all. I checked with the dealer again, they're able to order them. I tried searching, is there a post on recommended items to replace for suspension refresh? What else should I look into replacing when I have the shocks and springs replace? Thanks again.

Spring pads would be a good idea. They come in different sizes to get proper ride height front and rear. Also im sure the dealer will go over the suspension to see if any bushings and/or suspension components need refreshing.Good luck!

Yeah, probably NLA except as second hand. I junked mine unfortunately when I switched to KWs.
Have you checked the different options listed in this old thread?

I just got the Koni’s and Vogtlands from Germany and need to find the time to get them in.

I was curious about the pad thickness. Thanks for the rec.

would you happen to have a photo of your setup?
